I hammer loose on the tree until it cracks and overturn, after which I throw myself over the trunk. Barking and snarling, I bite and rip large pieces of the tree so that the splinters fly around my ears. Eventually I sink to the ground, breathless. It has become dark. How long have I been gone ?
