I started the car and merged into the rushing traffic. In the rearview mirror, that intersection grew smaller and smaller, finally fading into a blurred dot, disappearing entirely. I pressed the accelerator. Before me lay my own path, limitless and unbound.

Why did I suddenly decide to go back home? Nyra felt there had to be something she didn't know. She needed to get the full story from me. That same day, she bought a ticket back to Myrthia. But after landing, Nyra couldn't remember where my parents lived. She had to use the same trick—going to my office to ask. My coworkers told her I was on vacation. Nyra tried to contact my friends but found none of them in her phone contacts. She didn't even have my parents' numbers.

I had to do something for them. I needed to take away their pain and right the wrongs done to them. Removing my cloak, I exposed my wings. Snapping my fingers, I removed the manacles from their wrist. "Come here, dear ones." Dropping to my knees, I gathered the smallest child in my arms first. Wiping away her tears, I kissed her softly on her forehead. A bright light had shone and engulfed her. Erasing all the bad that ever happened to her, healing and returning her body to the state before that wretched man stole her five years ago. I sent her back into the loving arms of her mother and father.
