"Do you?" Teni still held a good measure of doubt. To her, Boma was the source of her current trouble.
Boma drew closer to Teni with the intention to offer some comfort.
As Boma reached out to comfort Teni, the latter recoiled, a mixture of pain and bitterness etched across her features.
"I wish we had never met," Teni whispered, her voice trembling with emotion.
Boma's heart clenched at her words, a pang of guilt washing over her. "I'm sorry," she whispered, her voice cracked from her struggles. "I never meant to hurt you."
