An Alpha Queen's Rogue
I follow the sound, walking through the trees and branches until I'm in a clearing.
The stag lies dead in the center. No sign of an injury on its body. It's just there, lifeless and not moving. I stand there frozen, staring in it's lifeless eyes.
I crouch, about to touch the stag, when a voice behind me cuts through the silence like a blade.
“Hello.”
I whirl around sharply, bow raised instinctively, eyes wide, heart hammering.
A man stands, bald headed and dressed in an all black buddah kind of style. He looks peaceful. Calm and casual.
