He had never fought someone made out of pure gold. The drums beat sped up faster and faster and faster until they stopped. In a split second the gold soldier swung his strong muscular arm forward, launching his spear in Marlon’s direction. With lightning speed reflexes Marlon moved out of the way. The spear lodged inside the ground where he had been once standing. The golden soldier let out a battle cry that seemed to enliven the gods that surrounded them. Marlon didn’t know this was what they meant by his ‘journey’. He was very skilled in the art of fighting, but he didn’t know if he could best him. He would try to stand his ground.

One after another and over the hill, an army appeared. Wolves, warriors, pack soldiers. At their front stood Verya, beside her was Abraham, the triplets gamma. “Attack!” Verya's scream echoed across the battlefield. “Kill all rogues! Leave no one alive!!” My eyes widened, my army was collapsing, being slaughtered and then, I heard her voice. “The Golden Dagger...” I jerked my head toward her, she was walking again, slowly, toward me. “The Golden Dagger has another myth.” Each step made the earth tremble as she closed her eyes, fighting against something. My body instinctively moved backward.

After driving through nearly another hour of foggy roads, their vision finally cleared up. The fog lifted, and Andrew's group had driven out of Gabo Creek province's territory, officially entering the Goldridge area. "We're less than two hours from Goldridge now!" Lauren said happily. Aspen asked curiously, "Lauren, have you been to Goldridge before?" Lauren smiled. "Once, but that was back in high school. It feels like forever ago!" Suddenly, a heavy slam struck the back of Andrew's car. His expression turned ice-cold as he jerked the steering wheel and switched to another lane. The Land Cruiser behind them aggressively followed, then accelerated hard to ram them again.
