“I am not Mane for no reason and I am not stupid when it comes to my daughter and after what she set Elizabeth up for and now with you here it all makes sense.” Beatrice gets to her feet and walks over to the cabinet in the corner. She opens it and pulls out 2 small scotch glasses, placing them on the pullout drawer before then reaching back into the cabinet and pulling out a decanter of orange liquid. She pours some into each glass, returns the decanter and then picks up the glasses as she walks back over, handing one to Graves. They both down the orange liquid in one before Beatrice says,

I summon you to the prayer room.” Alistair turned a deaf ear to her command and took Maeve back into his chambers, utterly smitten by her. “Alistair!” Beatrice called out in disbelief, astonished by his audacity. How can he disobey her? The queen mother. “Alis…” Maeve closed the doors, cutting her off, separating her son from the outside world. Beatrice clenched her fists, unable to take the humiliation and left the second floor, her legs moving towards the prayer room hastily, her heart wriggling as she thought of the whore’s triumph look.

"Honey, you are going to have to call me Edith if you don't want to call me mom." She blushed and bit into her delicious pastry. "This is good mom. Did you bake it?" "No Barbara Annette did." Barbara Annette inclined her head in Ashleigh's direction. "Barbara Annette has her own bakery shop and is a real pastry chef." Another woman scowled playfully. "I still make the best berry cobbler." Barbara Annette bristled. "That is not an authentic cobbler." The women bickered back and forth while Ashleigh watched and ate her pastry. She drank a glass of milk and then helped to crack about a hundred eggs.

I say as I finally breathe out after he leaves and I know for sure that he is out of earshot. This is not good. I quickly call my best friend, Judith as she has all the gossip in town. I ask her about Joseph Lachlan because I was curious now. I needed to know more about him. She had never seen his picture but everyone in the country had heard a lot about him.
