Not a mark on me. I sat there for hours, staring at the horizon — a wasteland of melted earth and twisted steel. The sun rose again, as if mocking me for surviving what should have ended everything. My reflection in the glass wasn’t human anymore; my eyes had changed. There was something eternal behind them — not divine, not demonic — just… unending. That was the day I knew for certain — I would never die. And whatever task that voice promised me… it was gone. Centuries passed. I kept living, losing, searching.

According to ancient tales, when one wants to become immortal, one must give something else in exchange. A life for life. My uncle, Enzo wanted to do that which was what caused a major rift between him and my father two centuries ago. That is the same tactic the Slayers used. That means… Those men are immortal.

A tear slipped down my cheek as the horror of it sank in. "Now…" He stood up slowly, power radiating off him in waves. "I am fucking immortal." "If we cannot, then I will let you live your life for 80 years and then I will kill you. I opened my mouth to talk but he raised his hand to shush me. "You are no longer a human anymore, your body will start to change soon. You will become immortal and can live on forever. I do not want you to live on forever, I do not want to have a mate. So I will allow you to live your life for another eighty years- more longer than your average human life and then I will kill you and I shall be free of the mate bond." I stared at him as I tried to process what he was saying. I wasn't human anymore? I am immortal?

The gene, made the man sitting next to her, scratch her skin hard and he did and it made her skin bleed but it was healed as soon as it was scratched. She immediately, placed her hands over her cheeks but that was of no use now. Hadius had already seen what he shown by the gene. He knew what kind of person holds that kind of power. He wasn't scared of the death anymore cause he knew what can make him immortal now. He had ordered, the gene to take away his soul before Briada would take it away.

So how did I become immortal again? "I-I don't know when I became immortal. I knew for myself that I was human when we landed on Wysteria." I promised Sudanni it was confusing. My situation just got worse. "You were already an immortal when you came to La Krispana. But did you notice any changes in your body before you went to Callora Grande?" Sudanni asked me, I can tell that he also doesn't know when I became immortal. Change? I thought about the change that happened to my body and I couldn't think of anything. Nothing has changed in my body—except the color of my eyes!

I knew lots of immortals had served in wars. There have always been a few humans who knew about us and were willing to make use of our special abilities. Most immortals were given special assignments rather than serving in the trenches since they couldn't afford to have humans see them regenerate if they were wounded. I was absolutely sure some of those "special assignments" had been pretty horrible. I picked up his hand and kissed it then changed the subject. "Your niece I met - she was actually your brother's granddaughter, wasn't she?"

"What about those magicians?" "Those immortals were actually magicians while they were still human. So even if they became immortal, they carried that with them and were able to lift it up for a long time. Using their ability will make them age but it won't kill them." this is the answer. I understood that. That's not a difficult explanation to confuse me. I was a little surprised because I saw the entrance to the palace. "I'm going to rest, Stefano. Thanks for picking me up," I just told him and I saw him look at the sentinels guarding the entrance.

It was existence as a cage for something else. Rose's voice changed again, but this time it wasn't Ashley. It was older, ancient, speaking through the emotional echo Ashley had left on the portrait. "The Architects made us first," the voice said. "Before phoenixes. Before wolves. We were their prototype for immortal consciousness. But we were flawed—we could think and plan but not feel. Anima answered, turning to the ground with a staggered look. "Well, think again; the four Immortals—Sabbath, Melody, Edith, and Clarabeth—have already revealed themselves to us, and we're really good friends now,” Angela said, walking forward. “Well, in that case, let me reintroduce myself to you. My name is Edith Anima, the Immortal of life and light. I'm the direct opposite of Edith Mortem, who is the Immortal of death and darkness. I've lived in this world for thousands of years, hiding from the mortals until Anaya asked me to stay here,” Anima said with a bright smile, stretching her right hand forward for a handshake.
