Bedtime Storys Novels & Stories

Ember's POV I pulled the duvet up, tucking the kids in properly as I turned off the light and made to leave but Bella suddenly grabbed my little finger stopping me. "Mommy," she called. "What is it, baby?" I asked, settling back on her bed. "I don't think I'll fall asleep anytime soon. Can you read me a story?" She asked. "Stop acting like a baby Bella. Bed night stories are for babies and not soldiers," Atlas said, making me chuckle.

Madison After dinner, I supervised bath time while Hazel cleaned up the kitchen. Ethan splashed enthusiastically, creating tidal waves that soaked my sweater. "Mommy, can we read three stories tonight?" "One story," I countered, wrapping him in a towel. "It's a school night." "Two stories?" "One and a half." "What's half a story?" "You'll find out." I got him into pajamas and tucked him into bed, selecting his current favorite book about a dragon who was afraid of his own fire.

However, with something on her mind, Thea tossed and turned that night, unable to fall asleep. Thorne pulled her into his arms and commanded dominantly, "Close your eyes, I will tell you a story." Then he went from Snow White to Pea Princess, from Cinderella to Thumbelina. Thea became more and more uneasy as she listened, “Why are all these stories about princes and Cinderellas who go through hardships and end up happily together?" Thorne said, "Because I liked it." Thea, “..." Finally, she felt a little guilty, “Why don't you go to sleep first? I really can't fall asleep."

Micah cracked one eye open and grumbled, “Where’s my bedtime story?” Adrian scooped him up, kissed his sandy hair. “I’ll tell you one.” Zaya reached for me, sleepy and small and safe. I carried her inside, her head tucked under my chin — her soft breaths a promise that the future could be gentle, if we let it. We lay curled together in that tiny beachside cabana, the windows cracked open to let in the hush of the waves. Adrian’s voice drifted through the dark, telling the children about two wolves and two sisters and the lie that became a truth that saved them all.

"I want to stay with you now. I miss you so much." "I know, sweetheart. How about Mommy tells you a really fun story? You get some sleep, and when you wake up, I promise I'll stay a few extra hours with you. How does that sound?" "You promise?" "Pinky swear!" I cross my fingers and kiss them. "Okay." I help him get comfortable in bed and sit in a chair to start telling him the story. "I want the story of The Girl with the Red Hood." "Oh wow, that's not exactly a bedtime story, Alex!" I grumble. "How about something more…"

“Here, Daddy.” I laid down next to them, and when I started to weave a story about the animals on the ceiling, Naomi linked our fingers together, while Becky laid her head on my arm. Just like that, all the stress from the day was gone, and I knew that no matter what, I was never going to miss another bedtime story.

Nathaniel said. “Another one! Another one!” Sebastian requested. Alisa nodded with a smile. “You want another story, Ali?” Nathaniel asked his daughter. Alisa nodded. “I can’t hear you, baby.” Alisa swayed her body at first, then spoke. “Another one!” Nathaniel chuckled, pinching Alisa’s cheek lightly. “Good girl.” They hadn’t seen Serena yet, so they eagerly listened to another story. The last book Nathaniel read was 'Goodnight Moon.' It was the perfect story to get them ready for bed. As he read, he changed his tone and pointed to the items mentioned in the book. By the time he was done, the kids were satisfied.

My own slippers were nowhere to be found. 'Isn't that just hilarious, Erick?' I mocked myself. I dropped my suitcase and turned to Yoel. "I'm still waiting for an answer. Where's your kid?" Yoel gulped, looking like he wanted to stand but Sheila held him down. He gestured dismissively at me, "Erick, don't sweat it! We were just kidding around, playing Truth or Dare!" The girl with the bubblegum-pink hair next to him chimed in, dramatically clutching her chest. "Totally, Erick. Don't get it twisted! We always spice up the game with some racy jokes. It's all in good fun!"

That I also used that spoon just moments ago? My face heated up, and I avoided his gaze. “I'm going to the bathroom.” I quickly tell him and then I run out of the room, so as to not make a fool of myself again.. ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤ That night, before I left, Sophia and Franklin asked me to tell them a bedtime story. Even though I had experiences in putting Xavier and Clayton to sleep, I only knew of the story of the three little pigs and of course Cinderella but my boys weren't ever interested in that second one.
