My throat closed as if invisible hands were strangling me. I clawed at my neck, gasping for breath. Franny turned away, disappearing into the sea of people. My smartwatch vibrated—warnings flashing. Heart rate spiking. Blood pressure unstable. The distant hum of voices faded into nothing. The last thing I saw was the stark white of the mall floor rushing up to meet me before everything went black.

I stood frozen in place, my eyes squinting against the glaring brightness of the oncoming headlights. My mind raced, a whirlwind of thoughts and emotions colliding within me. Each heartbeat felt like a pounding drum, reverberating in my chest. The weight of the imminent danger overwhelmed me, and then, in an instant, everything went dark. Consciousness slipped away, surrendering to the void as I succumbed to unconsciousness.

The boat tilted sharply as she lay motionless, her senses fading into a blur. Her vision darkened, and her thoughts slipped away. Moments later, everything went pitch black, and she drifted into unconsciousness.

My mind couldn’t process it all, couldn’t accept this reality that had been forced upon me. Before I could say anything, the world around me blurred. My vision darkened, and the last thing I saw before the blackness overtook me was Ethan’s concerned face as I slipped into unconsciousness.

He said and injected a liquid in the drip that he just attached a moment ego. Issac walked closer to me and sat down on the opposite side of the bed, held my hand in his and kissed my knuckles. "I'm right here." He said. I smiled at him and then closed my eyes. Slowly and gradually I can literally feel myself slip into nothingness. This was probably the state of something that lies between consciousness and unconsciousness. I could feel the pain that travels from my hand where the drip was attached all the way up to my arm and my head starts getting heavier.

Even as I began to consciously think these words, how easily they slip away from me, like clutching sand in my hands. 'Critically injured. Awaiting instructions.' A clear voice rang out, distinguishing from the cacophony that was happening in the crowd. I did not know whose voice it was, but it definitely sounded familiar. 'Call an ambulance. Now!' A stronger familiar voice demanded, though my ears were not registering whose voice was it. Little did I realize that it was the last thing I heard before my mind slowly began to absorb the pain and slip into unconsciousness like a drunkard getting intoxicated.

His voice is tinged with urgency and terror, echoing in the recesses of what remains of my consciousness. In those fleeting moments before everything fades away into silence, I hear him cry out again, frantically, "What’s happening? Doctor Gray!" His call for help reverberates through my mind as the last thread tethering me to reality snaps, and everything around me plunges into impenetrable darkness. His voice becomes distant, a fading echo, as consciousness slips away entirely.

"You’ll regain consciousness just in time for the entertainment to begin." My terrified gaze is frozen on him before it gets blurred and the edges darken as unconsciousness overtakes me. The final image seared into my fading sight is Zeus’s sneering smile as he watches me struggle helplessly.

His vision blurred, lights danced before his eyes, and in that disorienting blur, he caught a glimpse of the car speeding away. He felt the weight of unconsciousness descending upon him, an enveloping blackness that seemed to swallow him whole. With a final gasp, his world went dark, the echo of that chilling scream reverberating in his mind before everything faded into silence.

I could hear her ask the nurse that was attending to her while walking out. I felt dizzy, my feet became heavy, and my vision blurred, before I knew what was happening, I fell unconscious.
