It's so frustrating and my closed eyes, feel heavy with threatening tears. The threatening tears, the distant banging sound and then the fridge shaking, despite it vibrating, is the last thing I remember before my body falls into unconsciousness. " Angel?" Pat in the cheek." Angel come on." I hear at a distance. Then I feel it, something wet on my cheek, the same wetness that knocks me out of my unconscious state. The first thing my body is aware of, is the cool air and the ice cold that is melting from my body. My mouth feels free to move and my lips part, breathe coming out.

'' I spit But amidst the darkness, a faint glimmer of consciousness stirs. A distant murmur reaches my ears, like a whisper in the void. Slowly, almost reluctantly, my senses begin to awaken. I'm aware of a dull ache, a throbbing pulse of pain that resonates through my body. My eyelids feel heavy, as if weighed down by the weight of my own exhaustion. And then, like a distant echo, I hear voices – voices that seem to cut through the darkness, pulling me back from the precipice of unconsciousness. They're muffled at first, as if coming from a great distance, but gradually, they grow clearer.

I felt myself falling, drifting, floating away from the pain and noise and desperate activity around my body. "BP dropping further—50/25." "She's in hypovolemic shock." "Start chest compressions." The voices were fading, growing more distant with each labored beat of my heart. But just before consciousness slipped away entirely, I thought I heard it again. "Mia. Don't leave me." Was I dreaming? I tried to answer, to reach toward that voice, but the darkness was complete now, swallowing everything in its path. The last thing I registered was the high-pitched, urgent wail of a monitor—the sound of a flatline. And then, nothing.

Vera. I'm sinking. I know I am. I'm filling up with water and it's just a matter of time before my life slips out of me. I'm glad I'll finally be able to say goodbye to this cruel world. Then suddenly, I feel a pair of hands grab me, pulling me onto the surface. The cold air hits my face, but I don't want to open my eyes. I feel myself being pulled along, but I don't react. I should probably breathe, but my brain is too mushy to comprehend anything. So I shut down, slipping further into unconsciousness, hoping that this time, I die.

He felt a sharp pain in his head, and everything went black. As his eyes closed, he could feel himself slipping away. The pain in his head was intense, and he struggled to focus. He felt his body growing weak, and his thoughts became muddled. He was losing consciousness, and he knew it. As his mind began to shut down, he felt a strange sensation wash over him. It was like he was floating, weightless, in a vast emptiness. He could hear the sound of his own breathing, slow and labored. The world around him was fading away, and he felt himself slipping deeper into darkness.

I fought hard to stay alive. But I was slipping into unconsciousness. One long final breath and the next thing I saw was darkness. Thick. Endless. Consuming. Terrifying. Was I dead?

My steps faltered as I stumbled forward, my vision blurring and my consciousness slipping away. "No," I muttered. There were numerous souls still entrapped within the dining area, awaiting deliverance. I couldn't afford to succumb to unconsciousness now. Yet, against my will, the darkness encroached. Relentless. Damn it. Summoning the final reserves of my energy, I struggled to rise from the ground, each movement an agonizing endeavor. But my efforts proved futile as the world around me blurred into a chaotic swirl. A gentle shake on my shoulder jolted through my fading consciousness, accompanied by the urgent question, "Are you alright?"

I shook my head, not trusting my voice to say anything. There was a brief pressure, then warmth spreading slowly through me. My limbs began to feel distant, heavy, like they no longer fully belonged to me. The ceiling lights blurred above me as my breathing slowed, voices fading into something softer, further away. My hand twitched weakly toward my stomach. “We’re going to be okay,” I whispered. Then everything slipped. And the world went dark.

As she slipped slowly into unconsciousness she heard a voice. Stopp by then she'd already slipped off into the darkness.

I lay there, pinned and helpless, the weight across my back making it impossible to draw a full breath. My fingers twitched uselessly against the floor. Just before the darkness swallowed everything, the door swung open with a sharp thud. Heavy boots crossed the threshold, the sound echoing through the small chamber. I tried to lift my head—to see who it was—but my body refused to respond. Consciousness slipped away before I could manage even that.
