He called me fat....I stole his uncle
I shook my head, not trusting my voice to say anything.
There was a brief pressure, then warmth spreading slowly through me. My limbs began to feel distant, heavy, like they no longer fully belonged to me.
The ceiling lights blurred above me as my breathing slowed, voices fading into something softer, further away.
My hand twitched weakly toward my stomach.
“We’re going to be okay,” I whispered.
Then everything slipped.
And the world went dark.
