Kai and Selena focused inward, feeling the fusion power resonating within them. It was a strange sensation, like a surge of electricity coursing through their veins. Kai reached out to Selena, their hands clasping tightly. They closed their eyes, concentrating on the power they shared. Slowly, the fusion power began to stabilize, becoming a steady pulse that flowed between them.

“We can’t fight normally. Whatever it’s doing… it’s targeting the fusion. It knows you can’t act separately.” Kael’s eyes burned with determination. “Then we act as one but differently. We can’t let it dictate our rhythm. We have to force the fusion to stabilize on our terms.” Lyra’s pulse surged, energy trembling along the lattice of their bond. “But if we push too hard… we risk losing control… or worse. It could consume us completely.” The entity’s tendrils shot forward suddenly, lashing toward them in jagged strikes of energy. Lyra and Kael moved instinctively, their fusion allowing them to anticipate each other’s motions, dodge in perfect unison, and counter with arcs of flame and frost.

The tower explodes as the first attack breaches Sanctuary's outer defenses. And Adrian Wei and Bella Marchant, bound paranormal and transformed human, walk into battle together.

When Dowel’s black paws with three inch long talons plowed into and destroyed the thick silver, even Yohan who was as weak as a lamb transformed and helped destroy the cage.

Noise. Eryx clashed with the Clone-Alphas, his Grey-Iron strength meeting their "Ideal" power. Every time he struck them, they didn't bleed; they shattered into a spray of silver-pixels before reforming a second later. Leo was a blur of violet-grey starlight, his blade cutting through the "Metadata" of the Clone-Walkers, but more were being downloaded from the orbs every second. I focused on the Spire. I could see Hope inside the glass, her tiny form suspended in a sea of liquid silver-oil. Her emerald-crimson eyes were almost entirely silver now.
