Oh and of course my books. Grams was getting quite annoyed my books taking so much space away, so she decided to buy me an e-reader last Christmas. I do love my paperbacks more, but have to admit it's great to have the e-reader. This way, I didn't have to drag my 786 books I have at home here.

She looked at the numbers and charts on the screen. "Elena, Julian " the message said. "The big publishing companies are not doing well as they used to. They are not selling many books because people want to read real books, not just things on their phones. The companies forgot that readers want to read stories, not just things that are popular." Julian looked at the screen with Elena. Smiled. "The companies are still trying to figure out what we will do next, " he said. ". We do not have to play their game. We are in control now."

In the next few days, her life is going to change forever. As she rips off the wrapping paper, I tell her, “It’s fully charged, and I uploaded your favorite version.” A smile spreads across her face when she realizes what it is. Shannen enjoys reading so much. But her electronic book is so old I am surprised it still works. “Not only is it the latest model, but it also has a back-light for reading in the dark.” I brag. She turns on the e-reader and I go to close the curtains. I sat next to her to show her how it works. She squeals with delight as the device lights up. I could see Shannen’s beaming smile. I knew then I had chosen a perfect present for her.

I ask. "That will be way too heavy" she sighs. She hasn't exactly made things easy on herself, one looks like it's at least 600 pages. "Ever thought about getting one of those e-reader thingies? They hold all your books on one device" I say, gesturing behind the counter to a display of different screens. She smiles slightly before going back to the covers in front of her.
