The envelope had a seal crest stamped at the back. I opened the envelope and pulled out a gold-colored card with the letters 'BL' in cursive italics at the top. The card looked beautiful with its intricate design as well as the shine of the gold glitter that adorned it. "You are hereby invited to attend the wedding of Lacy Black, daughter of Jackson and Caroline Black, to Brian Larson," I read out loud. My eyebrows scrunched in confusion and my face depicted rage as I read those lines over and over again, allowing them to sink in and become real.
