He smirked, his hand trailing all over my skin setting a burning fire within me. “Maybe I don't need any protection from you.” I say and his smirk grew and his eyes widened and withdrew his hands from me. “Smart answer.” He says, biting his thumb so he bleeds before quickly stamping his bloody thumbprint on the contract. “A contract bonded by blood. Your turn.” He said, requesting my hand and then he pricked my thumb. Bright red blood rushed and I stamped on the contract besides his own bloody stamp. I winced at the pain as excessive blood began to rush from my thumb. Was this a bad omen or a sign that this was eventually going to end up in blood.

It was the fact that he wasn't looking at her like a stranger. He was looking at her like he had been waiting. "You're awake," he said. His voice was low and careful, almost...quiet. Nothing like what she expected from a man they called The Beast. But then again, the most dangerous things usually weren't loud. Hazel lifted her chin, meeting his gaze directly even though everything in her screamed to look away. "I want out of this contract." Not a flicker. Not even a blink.
