I'm an avid reader of romance novels, my favorite author is Kristen Ashley and I've read all of her books. You know that moment when a guy and lady connect and there are electric shocks and the rest that seems like a myth? I feel it then. Immediately I put my hand in his, it's like a shock passes through his hand to mine and I have to remove my hand immediately. "Nice to meet you Mia" he says with a sly smile on his face. It's like he knows what just happened to me. "Same here Mr. Black" I mumble. "Just Damien please. Mr. Black means I have to accept the fact that I'm old" he says.

I said and placed the fork back on the table. “Why can't you just feed me then? As you can see, I can't use my right hand.” Vladimir said and I narrowed my eyes at him. He is an Alpha for crying out loud and if he has a problem with his hand, he can actually make it fine within a few seconds without shifting at all. “I believe you can still eat with your left hand,” I told him and this time, it was actually Vladimir who narrowed his eyes at me. “Okay, I will feed you,” I told him and he relaxed his expression. My instinct keeps telling me this is just a lie and there is nothing wrong with his hand but for Penny's sake, I decided to do just as he instructed me to do.

He nodded, "but I want to try. If it were true, my father would have hidden such a book in open view, where no one would suspect." "His study?" She offered, "nothing seemed out of place there." She stared at him. "Bastian, you need to feed." He was panting now, his fangs protruding out of his mouth. His eyes were red and his claws dug into the walls in an attempt to abstain from hurting her. "Get me one of the soldiers, the dead ones, I'll feed on them," he forced out. She shook her head, "I shall not leave you here alone and if I get the body, it may arouse suspicion and prevent us from finding the book. Do not argue, feed on my blood."

My hand lifted, trembling, but his head snapped up, eyes locking on mine - wary, predatory, like I was prey. I froze, my breath shallow. "Eat it," I whispered, my voice soft, coaxing. "Slowly." He didn't listen. He devoured the pancakes, crumbs scattering, and when I picked up the milk bowl, his gaze followed, sharp and untrusting. "I'll feed you, okay?" I said, my voice barely above a breath. "Don't be afraid."

“And now you need to practice this magic, which you don't understand, on me as a test subject so that you can mind control Roanna into overlooking your failing grade?” Her blonde hair bobs a last time. “All those things are true, yes.” Hunter and Talon silently urge me to accept it, but there's one thing about this that doesn’t yet sit right with me: biting my arm. I sit back down, beckoning her with a wave of my hand. For the first time in a long time, she comes close to me voluntarily until she’s standing over me, her face blank. “I don’t want you to bite my hand.” I tilt my head just so as she furrows her brows. “I want you to bite my ear.”

Unable to look away, I stared at the arm and the hand, torn from its body, resting morbidly in the snow. I guess I should just call him Big Hand, now, I thought, so sickened that I couldn’t process anything more. Bile rose in my throat. I tried to roll over and felt my stomach convulse, but I had nothing to throw up. Enzo shifted back. “Touch her again, and I’ll take your other hand, too.” Big Hand fell to his knees, grabbing his lifeless arm, a sob building in his chest. “My… my arm,” he whimpered, his face contorted with pain.

My fingers tightened around the half-eaten bread still in my hand. Before I could second-guess myself, I stepped toward her and held it out. “Here.” She stared at it. Her throat bobbed as she swallowed, but after a moment she shook her head. Whether it was pride or fear, I couldn’t tell. But she was hungry. Anyone could see that. So I gently took her hand and pressed the bread into her palm. “Take it,” I said softly. The moment our fingers touched, pain exploded across my face. A fist slammed into me so hard that, for a second, I didn’t even understand what had happened.

"You can't meet starving yourself. Come on, just this. It's good, I promise." I hesitated, but her pleading eyes and the warmth of the soup finally broke through my resistance. With a sigh, I opened my mouth, allowing her to feed me. The first spoonful was a struggle, but as I swallowed, a flicker of warmth spread through me. Slowly, painstakingly, I began to eat, each bite a small victory against the overwhelming sadness.

"This was a birthday present Hans gave me last year." I gripped the gunwale tightly, my nails digging into my palms. This also happened in my past life; she deliberately emphasized Hans's special treatment to her in front of everyone, while I could only force a smile like a fool. I heard my own calm voice. "How is that possible? It's just a bag; it's worth it." Winnie's expression stiffened. Just then, the barbed wire snapped with a piercing sound. "Roar!" The first zombie broke through the defenses, its rotting fingers grabbing the edge of the deck as it climbed up!

"Don't worry. How could I possibly let another woman into our home and make you sick?" Looking into his eyes, which were brimming with affection, I felt the storm in my stomach quiet down. Inch by inch, I withdrew my hand from his grasp and held his gaze. My voice was as light as a breeze, yet it also carried a chill that could tear everything apart as I asked, "Is that so? But she can eat the little bunny-shaped apples you slice?"
