The noise behind us got heavier with the clear intent to kill us, the intruders. “Quick,” Nero said, and I followed his orders this time without a care. He jumped down first, and I watched as he rolled before getting up on his feet. Tony must have been waiting for us because suddenly the sounds of the car engine hummed and I saw the car speeding down to where Nero was. In an instant, the door to the study was bashed open. I turned to see a man aiming a gun at me. “Dante!” Nero called for me, and I answered by jumping down.

And now I'm terrified too. Vincenzo is there. Behind him are my two other big brothers: Terzo and Salvatore. All three are dressed in black: cotton pants, combat boots, and long-sleeved turtlenecks. No jewels, except for the Don's thick signet ring glinting on Vincenzo's finger. All three have pulled back their dark brown hair, the same color as mine. Vincenzo has a tight bun at the nape of his neck. Salvatore has a low ponytail, and Terzo has half a ponytail that he's tied back with pale-pink fucking pom-poms.

Nero begged. "I gave you a chance, but you wasted it. I only give one chance to everyone, and there's no second chance. Be thankful that I won't give you a painful death." She said and opened her hand. Black smoke came out of her palm and sucked the life of Nero. The other witches and vampires with him look so scared of what happened to Nero. They bowed with their head touching the ground.

A hallow gasp left my mouth at Damon’s last words and I finally understood. Nero’s soul was being harvested through the contract in order for more Shadows to be reborn. I removed his hand that covered my mouth, “How do we stop this?” When he said nothing, tears gathered around my eyes, “Please, Damon. I don’t want to watch this happen.” I felt as though I would actually run insane. Suddenly, Nero stopped moving, carrying a newly forged sword to a small body of water. He dipped it in and the action caused an extremely large amount of steam to form, the cool water now blazing hot and boiling.

She said. “You did right, little mama.” I said. I pulled the IV out and started to get up. I feel shaky but I need to get back to the ballroom. “Who is Nero?” I asked. “He is the cloaked man. He is also a former high elder and his son was Alpha Sherman, Jaxon.” Matt said. I stopped. “Wait, he is the one causing all these fucking problems?” “The very one. He said he has scores to settle but fought Jasper first.” Matt replied.

Nero exhaled the smoke from his cigar at Mira who still looked annoyed. “They did have fun, but they didn't let their guard down. They certainly learn from their previous experience. And they also know that you are definitely targeting the Dryad. Do you think they are that stupid?” Nero chuckled. “Just stepping a few meters from here will make you the black witch with the most ridiculous history in all of the Realms.” Nero mocked her. "What do you mean?" The answer to her question was Nero throwing a stone into the distance over her head. Not long after, there was a loud bang, the ground shook, and the dirt flew into the air.

And considering what she can do with her mouth, I'd say she's pretty fucking valuable." I would've been embarrassed if I wasn't terrified. Nero shifted. Black wolf. Huge. The biggest I'd ever seen. Was he joking right now? "This isn't a game, Nero Blackwater." "Everything's a game if you're funny enough." Nero's voice dropped. "What do you want with her?"

He was known as La Mano Nera (Nero), the leader of the Italian mafia, who had quickly made his name known by mafia’s around the world. He was one not to dare with as he was known for his cruel strategy of dealing with his victims. Nero scanned Lena’s face for a while before he turned to Dante, who approached him with a box. Dante opened the box, and the Russian roulette was exposed.

Heavy, mechanical footsteps crunched over the wet gravel. Nero, the Rank 7 Crustacean-Strain mutant, walked up to where Ren lay gasping. Her massive, hydraulic-powered pincer claw whirred softly, venting a small cloud of steam into the cold air. She looked at the perfectly dry, V-shaped patch of ground radiating outward from Ren’s body, protecting the entire settlement. She knelt beside him, her segmented, dark eyes unreadable. "I have lived in the dark for twenty years," Nero clicked, her mandibles shifting. "I have seen Warlords drown in the shallows, and I have seen the King's Guard crushed by the pressure. But I have never seen a single man break a wave like that."
