I lifted her upright slightly, cradling her against myself, but her body sagged limply, another cough sending crimson down the front of her underclothes. And then I saw it. Around the faint red punctures, her skin had begun to discolor-a purplish hue spreading slowly outward like ink bleeding through paper. Then, the two began concocting their potions in the courtyard. After a while, Western Venom held up a jet-black pill and coldly said, "Kid, my Devil's Pill is ready. Dare you to take it?" As he spoke, his eyes were full of provocation. Stephen couldn't help but taunt by saying, "I bet he won't dare to take it! If he does, without Western Venom's antidote, he's as good as dead!" Even ordinary people could see that the black pill contained deadly poison. Western Venom had concocted it using venomous insects, poisonous plants, and toxic flowers.

"What did you do?" I asked, frowning at him as I watched him pour the blood—he sucked from my mother's neck— on his hands and burned it, the flames almost caught my hair. "I extracted a venomous compound from their bites," Lysandros answered, his voice steady as he continued to burn the blood on his hands. "The bite carried toxins that were lethal to her human body. She's now okay." The flames danced on his hands, the blood turning to ash.

I asked looking around. "That's what I was telling Amy. My toys are here." He replied casually like it wasn't one of the strangest thing he ever said. When she didn't say anything, I decided to state my reason for been here. "I want you to extract my venom Ashley, you think you can do that?" I'm not even sure that's possible. My estranged sister and I are the only vampire who has venom capable of killing another vampire if we decide to push it in while biting so I've never heard of someone extracting poison from a vampire before.
