I laugh. “Absolutely not.” “Tomorrow.” “No.” “This weekend.” “…Clover.” She leans back, folding her arms. “You need this.” I glance at her. “Need what?” “To stop overthinking,” she says. “To stop blaming yourself. To stop acting like your life just ended.”

Be ready," Andrew instructed with a genuine smile. I couldn’t help but smile back at him and nod. Elysia looked upward. “No.” Clover’s heart raced. “What now?” Elysia whispered: “The door didn’t close.” “What?” “It only changed location.” “Where is it?” Elysia looked directly at Clover. “Inside the Eclipse.” Clover felt a cold presence behind her. A familiar voice whispered in her ear: “You thought you sent me away.”

I asked, turning my full attention to her. Clover knew that I loved Kade. Hell, she knew about the mugging five years ago and how I'd spent every day since looking for the man who saved me, and she always found an opportunity to rub it in my face but she also shipped me with every man I called cute in a movie or something. So here I was playing the guessing game with her. “Who else? Kade Carter is back in New York.” I choked on my coffee and went wide eyed. “There’s the reaction I was looking for.” Clover said with a grin and continued. “Well what’s the plan? You always wanted to meet him. How are you going to do it?”

The press was only meant to calm down the situation." Clover stared at him intently and uttered, "He and I aren't supposed to meet again. Isn't this what you've been hoping for?"
