POV: Maya The Blackwood estate sat hidden in the mountains, three hours north of Blackstone. The road twisted through dense forest until suddenly the trees parted to reveal a gothic mansion that looked like it belonged in a Victorian horror novel. Gray stone walls covered in ivy. Tall windows with heavy curtains. Turrets that reached toward the cloudy sky like accusing fingers. The place radiated old money and older secrets. "This is where your mother grew up?" Jaxon asked from the driver's seat.

~Samantha~ Black Moon's old residence looked like death had set up a vacation home and decided to stay permanently. Three stories of rotting wood and crumbling stone, windows like empty eye sockets staring at nothing, the whole structure tilted sideways like gravity had given up halfway through. Raven covered her mouth with her hand when she saw the picture on the big screen. A man was bloody while lifeless lying in the doorway. Half of its body is outside the door and the other half is inside. It stretched its hand out as if it was crawling outwards, but it could not do so because it had already died. There was a bloodstain on the floor. “What happened to him?” Kyra asked. “He is the new owner of the house,” said Cain. Beatrix showed the house from the outside to the inside. It is beautiful and its design was modern. It has a color black and white paint.

THREE DAYS LATER Anita trailed behind her mother, as they stride into a big mansion, which was painted all black, which got her wondering the kind of person the owner would turn out to be. She has seen lots of houses's painted black, with a touch of different colors on it, but this particular one has neither touch of mixed color. It was kind of becoming scary for her, and Anita fasten her pace towards her mother, which made her halt. "Mother, where is this place?" Anita asked, as she spun around to look at her.

But now all I felt was pressure. “You will get Henry,” she said softly, smoothing my collar, her fingers lingering for a second too long. “It’s not over.” I met her gaze in the mirror. “It feels like it.” Her eyes flickered with steel. “Then don’t let it.” I didn’t say anything. What could I say? My grip on everything was slipping. Thirty minutes later, I stood before the gates of the Black House—the clandestine manor on the outskirts of the city where mafia dons met under the veil of secrecy.

I felt the breath hitch in my wind pipes as our eyes met, his mesmerizing green stare made my cheeks flush and my knees go weak, it was like I was paralyzed as I stood there while his eyes still roamed me. "I don't think I've introduced myself. Damon Blackwood" his husky voice made my heart rate pick up. A smirk crawled unto his features as he stretched out a hand for me and I just stared in awe, his words sinking in.
