"It's beautiful, isn't it?" "It's splendid!" Leaf squealed. I looked towards the talker and flinched with shock and fear when I saw a fox sitting in front of me. The fox was 5.7ft tall, with rose gold fur with a long white streaky trailing from his head to his fluffy tail. His paws were white too and the inside of his ears red. He was beautiful. "Love you!" Leaf shrieked. "You are so cute, Foxy!"

the half-wolf explained as loudly as he could. The countdown began, and the sounds of bones cracking and clothes tearing echoed through the air. The representative men were already transforming into their wolf forms. I recognized a Tartarus wolf the moment I saw one. We usually had the darkest shades of black, and there was always a T-shaped mark at the back of our heads symbolizing the Tartarus Pack. Four... three... two... one... go! The Silver Fox was released and, like a flash of lightning, it sped into the forest arena. The wolves chased after it, and it wasn't surprising that Malakai was leading while a grey wolf sprinted behind him, trying to catch up.

This is exciting. I whispered under my breath, "Kitsune." The little boy heard and gave me another hug. I'm guessing that's a yes. According to the legends, a Kitsune is a fox spirit that develops a tail every one hundred years. When it reaches its thousandth year and grows its final ninth tail, the Kitsune changes color from orange to either white or gold thus becoming a divine fox with godly powers. Judging by the looks of this boy, he still has one tail which makes him a young Kitsune.

All that I see is my five-year-old self, just with different hair color and… and… Ears and tail. When I look at the mirror like this, all I can see is my mystical ears and tail. I look like a cosplayer, but believe it or not, this is actually real. My ears looked like that of a fox, and my tail too. My hair turned gray, matching the color of my eyes. Even the ears and tail that I’ve grown was of the same color. I don’t know if I’m dreaming or not, but several days had already passed.

I asked myself in my head, my mind racing. Turning the page, the book revealed more about fox spirits, their abilities, similar to werewolves but they were far stronger, depending on the number of their tails. They could generate fire or lightning from their mouth or tails, shapeshift, possess a person’s body and create illusions to manipulate and outsmart their opponents.

His yelp of surprise was muffled by her hand. “She’ll hear,” the girl whispered. There was steel in her voice. Her words were enough to keep him silent. Hadn’t he just learned to believe in monsters? Every movement of the woods became a threat. The howl of wind through branches. The snap of twigs as creatures skittered. A rustle to his right. A flash of pale movement. “Was that—?” The girl shushed him and held up a thin arm, pointing to their left. A lithe shape lurked among the trees, almost invisible. Its graceful movements made no sound, like the mist of fog sifting through the forest. It had a sharp snout and pointed ears, thick red fur, and bright eyes. And behind the fox wove nine tail

I said firmly, shifting my focus back on the original subject. “Your wolf is called Maddox and his tail has a thick, black line running right in the middle of it, making it stand out from his grey, silver fur color” she said confidently. Maddox was beyond thrilled that she knew his name in addition to that distinct mark while I internally rolled my eyes at his exaggerated excitement. I tilted my head “Anyone who’s ever met me could have told you that info. It’s no proof you’ve personally met me or my wolf before”

He won't need to take care of me anymore. Fluffy came back into the cave carrying a sizeable furry animal. Maybe the size of a Labrador retriever squirming trying to get away. Little shrills came from the white-coated animal. For being outdoors and not a pet, its fur was ridiculously white with a hint of blue hue. The face was small and pointed, the tail big and feathery, reminding me of a fox or raccoon. Fluffy brought it to Creed, his tail wagging like a dog instead of its saunter wagging like a cat.

"Do you think they can save Great-uncle?" "No way! Great-uncle isn't some spirit medium," Ronan replied. "Then why is Third Grandpa Fox lying next to Great-uncle?" Sadie asked. "How would I know?" Inside the bedroom, the large black fox woke up, looking at Chad with a bewildered expression. Chad glanced at it and said, "Sorry, but you might be disappointed. He probably won't die." The black fox shook its head and grinned in a human-like manner, speaking in a human voice, "You're from the Python family. Who's your shaman?"
