Luna Diana

What if he’d used some other compound and the bullets weren’t really silver at all? She considered what had happened that day so long ago when she’d thought Ragnar was close on her trail and she’d found a smithy working at his anvil, his large, sinewy hands pumping the bellows to heat the fire. The sign hanging above the blacksmith’s shop in the Arizona town proudly advertised his skills: wrought iron work, horse shoeing, wagon fixing, wagon wheels, pulling teeth. But all she’d cared about was whether or not he could make bullets. Silver bullets.

Rejected Mate Of The Alpha

Rejected Mate Of The Alpha

My task was to add the finishing touches, design the swords, and safely store them. The clanging of metal and the scent of hot iron welcomed me as I entered the forgery. One of the blacksmiths, a burly man with calloused hands and a perpetual scowl, nodded in acknowledgment as I approached. I wasted no time and began working diligently, my fingers dancing across the weapons, adorning them with intricate patterns and symbols.

The Alpha's Bought Bride

The Alpha's Bought Bride

The air inside the lower forges was a sweltering suffocating wall of sulfur, coal smoke, and radiating thermal heat. Down here, deep within the subterranean roots of the Obsidian Hold, the rhythmic thud of heavy iron hammers striking anvils echoed like a frantic metallic heartbeat. But as Silas and I stepped off the stone lift, the sweating blacksmiths and forge masters immediately ceased their labor, dropping heavily to their knees on the soot-stained floor.

Found (Book #8 in the Vampire Journals)

Found (Book #8 in the Vampire Journals)

She shivered and looked away. As they turned down another street, the entire block was filled with blacksmiths. Everywhere flew anvils and hammers, and the ping of metal rang throughout the street, each blacksmith seeming to echo the other. There were also clay pits with large flames roasting slabs of red-hot metal, on which they were forging horseshoes, swords, and all sorts of metal work. Caitlin noticed the faces of children, black with soot, sitting by their father’s sides, watching them work. She felt badly that the children worked at such a young age. Caitlin looked everywhere for a sign of Scarlet, of her Dad, of any clue of why they were here—but she found none.

A Different Kind of Alpha: Blood Oath

A Different Kind of Alpha: Blood Oath

Alexei The Foundry is a bodyguard’s nightmare wrapped in iron and steam. It sits on the eastern edge of the lower district, a sprawling, blackened cathedral of industry where Silvercrest turns raw ore into plowshares, horseshoes, and weapons. As we ride through the wide gates, the first thing that hits me is the noise. It is a rhythmic, deafening cacophony. The crash of drop hammers, the hiss of quenching troughs, the roar of the blast furnaces. It makes communication impossible. It masks the sound of footsteps. It masks the sound of a bowstring being drawn.

I feel like the story was drawn out and slow at some points, but overall it was good. I love Kieran and Alexei as a couple and how they interacted with the other characters. The only thing I would change is having them switch occasionally in the bedroom since Kieran is an alpha too.

The Alpha's Dragon

The Alpha's Dragon

he began, “is both fortress and forge. Every wall has a guard and they do not trade in trifles. Everything there is measured, tested, and weighed.” He drew a finger through the air, as if tracing the shape of the market he spoke of. “Their bazaars run beneath the mountain, carved from basalt itself. I saw the obsidian by the cartload, Empress. Real. Dense and Alive.” Merenrys’ gaze sharpened, a glint of interest breaking her composure. “You’re certain of its power?” Novelio’s mouth curved faintly. “I saw a smith drop a shard into the flame and pull it out glowing, unbroken.”

The Alpha General's Substitute Bride

The Alpha General's Substitute Bride

And where the hell was the Alpha King while we busted our asses on the front line? Not even the Moon Goddess visited this pack. “What can I get you?” the guy behind the bar said. I slid a gold coin across the bar. “I need someone to make me a weapon. And information,” I said low. He glanced up beneath my hood, then slid a hand over the gold coin. “Can’t promise he’ll take the job, but the best smith lives in a cabin near the warriors’ citadel, to the south,” he said, wiping the counter with a rag dirtier than the wood.

One the blacksmith had referred to as 'beautiful'. Next was the forging. Under the guidance of the blacksmith Sethlzaar spent the rest of the day shoveling coke into the furnace while the man hammered away at his work. The smoke threatened to choke Sethlzaar and the sound of the hammer against the anvil left him with a constant ringing in his ears.

It seemed as though he was fighting the lava itself. “An Agile!” Zephyr exclaimed, in awe of the old man’s powers. The smith’s many hands crossed with the lava, and before long, found themselves upon a red gemstone, it was covered in yellowish marks — the Ashok Obsidian. “Aha! Again!” the smith chuckled, then he excitedly sent forth his arms again.

Sunbringer

Sunbringer

Enough to satisfy rich noblewomen and their expensive tastes. Unfortunately, the Kellana region did not have a torium mine, but there was one east, in the domain of lord Sienth, in Niera. Jon travelled to Niera and bought some raw torium. One morning while making a plough and a mirror frame at the same time, he spilled some molten torium onto one of the mouldboard casts. After it had cooled, the mouldboard crumbled. But the shards of the cast became extremely hard and strong. Jon experimented for months and when he realized what he had achieved, the young and stupid blacksmith from Taras decided to seek an audience with his lord Kell. His head was full of unspeakable wealth and young maidens
