Three tall metal gates stretched down the hall, a man posted at each, and there was a hand scanner that sat on each of the locks. We followed Lincoln as he placed his hand on the first scanner. The pad turned green, and the first gate slid open with a loud buzz. After passing through the third gate, Lincoln stopped in front of a solid metal door. There was no window to look into and the whole place smelt like bleach, burning my nose.

Chapter 56 Selene’s skirts swished against her ankles as she strode toward the lower gates of hell. As she passed the inhabitants of the realm, many greeted or bowed as she passed. The doors all led to dark, foreboding tunnels and halls, leading to unknown destinations. The chamber doors opened one by one, revealing dark, hooded figures emerging into the room. The reapers were cloaked in black, their faces hidden in shadow.

In standard gameplay, they were used by the Admin to spawn waves of flying gargoyles and heavily armored golems. Right now, the gates were glowing with blinding intensity, infinitely spawning massive, winged Obsidian Wyverns that immediately took to the red, glitching sky.

Just the storm outside and the low growl of a blacked-out SUV idling at the emergency entrance. Rain lashed the windows as we climbed the coast road. The university gates appeared through the downpour—wrought iron twisted into roses and bats, glowing faintly crimson against the black cliffs. Beyond them, BludHeaven rose like a cathedral someone had carved out of midnight: spires, arched windows, stone walls that looked old enough to remember when vampires still ruled the night unchallenged. The driver glanced at me in the rearview mirror. “Welcome to BludHeaven, Nico Black. Try not to die on the first night. The queens hate when their new toys break too soon.”

Massive waves crashed against jagged rocks below while storm clouds churned overhead. Lightning illuminated the horizon. Not white lightning. Silver. The same silver that lived inside the gates. The same silver that flowed through my blood. A city stood beneath the cliff. Ancient. Enormous. Half submerged beneath the sea. Its towers rose from the water like the bones of something long dead. And at the center stood another gate. The Third Gate. Larger than Blackthorn's. Larger than the desert gate. Its surface glowed beneath the storm while hundreds of figures moved around it.

"Their teeth are broken! Their fire is ours! Drop the gates and hunt them down until the snow turns red!" The massive iron-reinforced gates of the Obsidian Hold ground open with a deafening screech, and thousands of roaring predators poured out onto the blood-stained valley, their star-silver alloyed blades ready to finish the harvest.

“…Alright then!” replied Rey with a nod. Hearing that, Gerald then said, “It’s decided then, Mr. Bates. Both of us will be entering, so please open the portal for us in advance!” Upon hearing that, Mr. Bates said nothing.
