Hunter returned, holding a plastic mixing bowl in one hand and an application brush in the other. Inside the bowl was a frothy blue mixture that reeked of chemicals strong enough to make my eyes water. I recoiled slightly, nose wrinkling as I waved a hand in front of my face. “What the hell is that?” I asked, eyeing the suspicious concoction like it might come alive and eat me. He smirked, setting the bowl down on the vanity in front of me. “Powdered bleach. Gotta lighten your hair first so the pink sticks better. Otherwise, you’ll just end up with a muddy mess.”

Everybody has gone, even the rest of the guards. A car horn startles me and I quicken my attempts at searching for where the bleach is kept. I walk into the kitchen and I look around frantically. I see a small door and I jog towards it and open it. Bingo! There are shelves of soap, disinfectants, other products, but most importantly, bleach! I grab the small gallon of bleach and I jog back out of the kitchen quickly. As I walk through the living room so I can go upstairs and prepare the syringe, I spot Robert talking to someone at the entrance of the house.

So . . . we need bleach. And vinegar and baking soda." At my questioning glance, she explained, "It's good for cleaning sinks and showers and toilets. Great for deodorizing, too." I take the bag from the drugstore into the bathroom and get to work. It’s late at night and I’m nearly done with my hair. The blond is now setting in my hair. I was pretty pleased with the way the bleach came out. It wasn’t as stiff as I thought it might get. I change the channel on the old school TV again, uninterested in whatever nonsense is on this channel. I keep clicking through, killing time until I can rinse out the blond. My mind goes blank as I keep scanning channels. There’s a romance movie and the lead characters rush into each other’s arms in the rain. There’s a nature documentary about wolves. There’s a murder crime tv show. And every single glimpse makes me think… about Drake.
