The Luna He Can't Forget

The Luna He Can't Forget

The city seemed frozen in time, a forgotten corner where rogues and outcasts sought refuge. As she approached the White's home, the sight before her was even more dismal than she had anticipated. The house stood in disarray, its weathered walls and crumbling structure bearing witness to years of neglect. The roof sagged under the weight of time, its once vibrant color faded to a muted gray. The gate, rusted and crooked, gave an eerie impression of a barricade warding off unwanted visitors.

Legendary Quest of the System Warrior

Legendary Quest of the System Warrior

Keagan smiled back at him. "I got that promotion I always wanted. Now, we can live the life we've always dreamed of!" he answered with joy in his voice. As they walked away, Keagan cast one last glance at the house. Its desolate appearance was a stark contrast to the vibrant world they were stepping into. The darkness enveloped it, broken windows evidence of vandalism, overgrown foliage consuming parts of the fence and basement. The house wore a coat of green mold, while a gaping hole in the roof revealed its vulnerability to the elements. To most, it was an unnoticed structure, lost among countless others. But for the two brothers, it held a peculiar significance—a sanctuary in the face of

Broken Bonds: Beyond Destiny

Broken Bonds: Beyond Destiny

Bright The house was silent, too silent. The kind of silence that isn’t peace, but an invisible presence crawling through the corners. I closed the door behind me and stood still for a few seconds, letting the cold evening air hit my back before turning the key. Everything looked just as it had when I left weeks ago, and yet… not quite. Something was different. The smell, maybe. The house smelled of abandonment.

The Billionaire's Housemaid

The Billionaire's Housemaid

David, uncertain but willing, allowed the conversation to unfold, intrigued by the unfolding drama in his office. "Okay, you can have a seat," David muttered, his hand extending hesitantly toward a chair for Andrew. Flora, sensing a subtle shift in David's demeanor, couldn't help but clap her hands softly, her eyes reflecting a glimmer of hope. ""Thank you, sir," Andrew acknowledged, a hint of gratitude in his voice. As he began to share his tale, the air in the room grew heavy with the weight of emotions. His words painted a vivid picture of a girl in distress on the streets of London, pouring out her heart every night. Flora, captivated by the narrative, listened with a mixture of curiosit

Forceful Marriage: Young Master's Mute Wife

Forceful Marriage: Young Master's Mute Wife

He had been to this house few times, and even when they got married, he didn't come to pick her. The last time he remembered it was when she was hiding here and he came to pick her. He didn't expect that when he came again, he would see the collapsed house with his own eyes. The demolition machine stopped. It picked up the fallen bricks with a shovel, put them on the transport car on one side, and raised more dust. In the increasingly dark sky, this scene seemed particularly sad. Blake's breath sank and he asked, "What are you doing here?" At this time, the foreman at the scene, the owner of this demolition company, came over.

THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER

THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER

Get out ,he looked shocked but covered it with a smile and left. Rubbish . I finally dressed up completely in my uniform and went downstairs to the mighty kitchen. Surprisingly the place was so quiet ,it wasn't as busy as it was last night ,I couldn't even find a soul . I became scared, why is the whole mansion void of humans ,it's like they all vanished into thin air . How will I prepare food now?

My Boyfriend's Cousin

"You can wait here, I'll come to Mr. Miller." I nodded, and did what I had wanted to do for a long time. I walked over to one of the large shelves as she entered a hallway at the end of this room, and I was surprised because I thought these books were just replicas made of styrofoam. In fact these books are really original, or books that are copies of the original books. Which, of course, is also old. I pulled up a book called Bleak House by Charles Dickens. One of the books was dark blue with an old engraving on its back.

Can't Fight This Feeling

He gave the door another push. Glass shattered as the door slammed against the wall behind it. He stepped into the house and pinched his nose closed with his index finger and thumb. The smell was even worse inside the house than it was on the outside. How could anyone live in that filth? The inside of the house was so bad that it made the houses of the people on the show Hoarders look clean.

In 'Bleak House', the key characters are a mix of the virtuous, the tragic, and the downright villainous. Esther Summerson is the heart of the story, an orphan raised in secrecy who becomes the novel’s moral compass. Her kindness and resilience shine through every challenge. Then there’s John Jarndyce, the benevolent owner of Bleak House, who takes Esther under his wing. Lady Dedlock is another pivotal figure, a woman of high society hiding a scandalous past. Her secret connection to Esther drives much of the plot. Inspector Bucket, the detective, is a fascinating character, blending sharp intellect with a sense of justice. And let’s not forget the villainous lawyer, Mr. Tulkinghorn, whose manipulative schemes create much of the tension. Each character is intricately woven into the novel’s critique of the legal system and societal hypocrisy.
