Blind Date Turned Proposal Novels & Stories

“I just wanted to surprise him. Don’t read anything into it.” “I’m not.” I shrugged. “You can date him. You can marry him. Whatever you want to do. They have nothing to do with me.” Displeasure crossed her face. “There’s nothing serious between Noah and me. Ethan, you’ve been acting like this because I keep turning down your proposals, haven’t you?” I looked at her with a faint, humorless smile. “Fine.” She spoke as if she were making an enormous concession. “If getting married is what it takes to make you feel secure, I’ll seriously consider it. Can we put all of this behind us now?”

"No one would believe that." "Not proposed immediately," she clarified. "But maybe you...I don't know... took pity on me?" "I don't take pity on people." The words came out harsher than intended, making her shrink back slightly. I moderated my tone. "No. We need something believable but not verifiable. We met six months ago at a gallery opening. You were working there; I was considering an acquisition. We exchanged numbers, began dating discreetly." She nodded, absorbing the story. "And when did you propose?"

Filled with drama no matter how hard I try to avoid it. “Now in order for me to claim what is legally mine, I must get married before my twenty-seventh birthday which is in three months.” Silence stretches between us and once more the anger comes rushing back. “So your brilliant solution” I say sarcastically “was to go after your ex-girlfriend’s best friend, blackmail and manipulate her into marrying you?” His brows pull together. “I didn’t manipulate you” “Oh please” I roll my eyes “I don’t see how that is manipulation, Diane. We’re both helping each other. It was a business proposal and you willingly accepted it less than 36 hours ago”

Instead, I watched him as he finally turned toward me, his gaze unreadable, as if I were a stranger being handed to him. And still… I smiled. Because I wanted him to want this. I wanted to be chosen. Even if only for show. The proposal happened three days later. In the Blackwood estate garden. At dusk. There were no roses. No candles. No photographers. Just a ring box he handed to me like it was a document to be signed. “Do you have any objections?” he asked. I could have said no. I could have walked away. But I looked at him, at his guarded eyes, the faint crease in his brow, the way his voice softened just slightly at the word objection. His eyes were crystal clear, like an ocean. I felt l

she said, confusion evident in her tone. Karin chuckled softly. “Ah, I see. Mr. Blackwood is the gentleman you proposed to earlier today. He was quite taken aback by your boldness and would like to discuss the matter further.” Elizabeth’s mind raced. The man she had impulsively proposed to was someone of significance? She had no idea. “I… I didn’t realize,” she stammered. “When would he like to meet?” “He’s available tomorrow at 10 AM. Will that work for you?” Karin asked.

"Nah, let's just keep it casual, or Diane will get hurt." "Diane? She's been following me everywhere, and it's driving me crazy. But I've got a plan to make her quit. Just watch." Maggie laughed heartily, asking about the details. Livio's voice came through playful and smug. "Her birthday is in a week. I'll throw her a party, fake a proposal, and humiliate her in front of everyone. Then she won't have the nerve to chase me again." Maggie's eyes crinkled with amusement, while I stood in the shadows, feeling a chill down my spine. It felt like an invisible hand was squeezing my heart, the dull throb making me shake all over.

“Everyone is full of surprises. And since this won’t be a real marriage, we can get divorced in six months.” “Make it a year. Sounds more believable.” He suggested. “Fine by me.” She shrugged. “So do we have a deal, Mr Persson?” Elias wasn’t sure if she was trouble or brilliance—but either way, he felt drawn to her. And of all things to propose, she had brought to him the one thing he didn’t expect. He brought out a black card from his shirt pocket and placed it on the table. Bemused, she glanced at the card and back rat him.

"Blaze? I-I thought I..." He smiled, cutting me off. “Well, after you left, I lost focus and figured we could probably have dinner together.” The proposal was shocking, much less after he left work and followed me home. I wondered. Was that the real reason, or was this another trap concerning the contract? "So?" Blaze arched his eyebrow, his smirk ever-present. "I'm not hungry," I replied, trying to ignore the way my heart raced at the sight of his tie already yanked down, his first three buttons lost like he had run a mile and needed fresh air.

At 8:26, after my proposal, he deleted it and printed a version with a blank line. He had pretended the contract was impersonal. Prepared for any useful bride. But there had never been another woman. I touched the screen. “You didn’t accept my proposal,” I said. Caelan’s face went pale. “You were waiting to make your own.”

He joked but I wasn't having it. "Hmm." I hummed uninterestedly for lack of words to say. His smile dimmed, "Is there something wrong Hannah?" I couldn't hold it anymore, I had been quiet for two days now and I was fed up. I gently kept my mug down. "You want to tell me why you decided to blindside me with a proposal without us having any prior discussions regarding marriage??" "Whoa that came out as a storm..." he remarked. "Answer me Simon." I sternly stated.
