“Too late.” He grinned. Then, without another word, he gave the signal. Chaos erupted. Gunfire. Explosions. The shouts of men as Leon’s team stormed the dock. Leonard had gritted his teeth. "Don't go anywhere! I am going up to you now!" Leonard scowled with fury. The tall figure moved and his men moved. Bernardo's men also moved, ready to fight, too. Bernardo sprang up from his seat and called to order his bodyguards to blockade Leonard and his men. Two subordinates leaped to each other as if they were mad dogs. Leonardo turned, looking at his brother with an expression that was hard to read. There, a small knife was lodged in his left side—right between his ribs. Blood began to seep out, slowly soaking his white shirt. Alexandro bit his lip, enduring the pain spreading through his body. He couldn't fall. Not now. "I'm not fighting you. I will never fight you." Leonardo laughed cynically. "You think I believe that? All this time you've only pretended to be a good brother. But behind my back, you must have laughed at my ruined life."

“My choice is staying right where I am.” Leon sighed like a disappointed teacher. “You always did like the difficult path.” He nodded to his men. I pulled Elena behind a shipping container just as gunfire erupted again. “Adrian!” she shouted over the noise. “I’m okay!” I pulled her into my arms, shielding her. Leon’s voice thundered through the warehouse. “Stop fighting me, Adrian! You’re running toward a war you cannot win!” I peeked out and fired back. “I’m not alone.” Elena shouted, “Adrian left!”
