Within that blood were even several nearly transparent fragments of soul essence, showing just how severe his injuries had become. His body began to tremble violently beyond his control. His bones emitted dense, teeth-aching cracking sounds, as if they might completely fall apart at any moment. His severed meridians attempted to reconnect under the pull of soul essence, yet every attempt brought heart-rending pain, like countless red-hot copper wires being forced through dry, broken wooden pipes, scorching the meridians inch by inch.

Dino’s POV I had never opened those files in many years, not out of secrecy, but because they were covered with excessive blood. They sat on my individual server, and were kept, closed over three layers of clearance, any movement or conversation thereof being neither noticed nor recalled by anyone save the dead. I read them tonight, since the name of Drina was never to be forgotten, and because I felt that silence was beginning to be a crime. The screen was dimly lit in the dark office in which I poured myself a drink that I was not determined to take. The capital of Madrid was extending beyond the glass walls, breathing life, unaware of the ghosts breathing within my empire.

I could already tell the was regretting tagging along with us. “There are so many worlds out there,” Marucs began. “Worlds that are flourishing, worlds that are thriving, and the ones that are dying.” I glanced at Elvira who had on a stoic face. If what Marcus said had affected her. she did not show it. I peered back at the projector. It showed an image of earth being surrounded by other replicas of earth but with slight and subtle differences. Marcus flicked to the next image and I saw different creatures. Men and women with tails of fishes. Under the images was a word scribbled: The Merpeople. I saw men with pointed ears, long noses, sharp teeth with scaly wings flaring from their backs. U

"Mr. Blackstone's car just left the airport." "Perfect."Forty-five minutes for me to work my magic . And forty- five minutes until the Ice King returned to his frozen kingdom. I snapped my fingers at the team of movers. "The corpse trees first. Then the monochrome abomination over Chesterfield." As they dismantled Damien's bleak empire, I unveiled my arsenal: First was the "Blood Meridian" – A Rothko-esque oil painting with crimson so deep it looked freshly spilled Next was a "Bird Flipper" – A kinetic sculpture that danced with air currents (currently giving the ceiling the middle finger)

Seren A boy screaming for his mother while his own hands strangled her. A warrior begging his body to stop as it drove a blade through his brother’s ribs. A woman watching her feet carry her forward, step after step, toward people she once called family. The pain didn’t come in waves, but all at once. It had weight, crushing me. It filled every space inside my skull until I could no longer tell where I ended and they began. Memories that weren’t mine flickered behind my eyes—pack markings, burning homes, the copper taste of blood swallowed against protest. The metallic tang of Meredith’s magic threaded through it all, sharp and rotting, binding them together like barbed wire pulled too tight

that had failed the "Market Test." The Merchant-Beast stood on a platform of frozen code, holding Kaelen’s white-glass cage over the mercury. The "Genesis Gold" marrow of the boy was bleeding out into the air, creating a violet-gold fog that the beast was "Harvesting" into a series of small, mercury-vials.

Meanwhile, Adrian came to my side, and looking at me with more questions, he picked me in his arms. «she needs a doctor, now,» he said and escorted me to the open room, Atlas’s room. I held on to him, it felt weird, he was angry, warm, and afraid, and fear radiate out of him. He placed me on the bed and I felt a bolt of pain in my left arm where the wound was healing, making me scream my heart out; I looked at my hand, seeing black veins covering the wound. «What is that?» asked Hunter. The pain was unbearable, but I knew what was this, black blood, I have been marked.

Investigations: The patient’s initial work-up included a full blood count, type and cross-match for transfusion, and X-ray imaging of her head and lateral cervical spine. The X-rays were both performed at the primary medical facility. Head X-ray was of poor quality but did not reveal any obvious injuries. Cervical spine X-ray imaging was lost on transfer, and repeating the cervical spine X-ray at the tertiary hospital would have delayed operative treatment. Cross-sectional imaging was not performed, as CT scanning is not available at the tertiary hospital. Her full blood count was notable for a hemoglobin of 11.3 g/dl and platelet count of 202 (x106 u/ml).

The wind howled violently, scratching at my throat until I felt an itch that seemed to make me want to cough. "Enough talking. Choose, or I'll let them both go." At Amber's signal, the men next to us hoisted both me and Tara up. The salty sea breeze hit me in the face, and the sharp smell of ocean water churned my stomach. However, nothing compared to the screaming in my ears. Before I could even draw a breath, Ethan had already made his choice. At that moment, everything went silent. Amber instinctively turned to look at me. My vision flickered and spots of black clouded my sight, but I did not know why.

Ironic. The thought dragged a dry, humorless laugh from my throat. It echoed in the sterile silence of my office, a place that smelled of lemon polish and an underlying decay. My vision was now swimming on the edge of a crimson haze, each blink more laborious than the last. My hands trembled uncontrollably, and I curled them into fists, nails digging into my palms—useless pain that did nothing to steady me. Then it hit me: Bloodmatch. The name pressed against my consciousness like a shadow that refused to lift, a curse and a promise all at once—dangerous, illicit, irresistibly seductive.
