Blood dripped from her hand onto the book and when that happened, the sky went red, red as blood. I have read about this before when I was younger. Lila was about to perform blood magic.

She softly asked. I felt my blood pressure rise in a state of panic before I began coughing into my hands, -a situation that came seemingly at the right time, forcing me to run into the bathroom. It was as I rigorously coughed into my hands that I felt the splurge of something warm unto my pale palms- -and with a pain in my chest, I sighted the most gruesome form of the disease, blood. Calmed down, i focused my sight back and forth the blood on my hands and the person that stood in the mirror-

Clement backed away, his hands shaking as he wiped her blood onto his trousers. I lowered her onto the linen, keeping my hands on her wrists until her breathing slowed. Then I stood entirely still. I looked down at my hands. Dark blood from the corridor wall was still leaking across my split knuckles, mixing with the bright, wet smears of Clara’s blood on my palms. I closed my eyes for a fraction of a second, searching for the biting northern chill that had actually broken the fever, but my palms were warm, slick, and heavy with the scent of this room.

Fear, guilt, rage—all of it swirling in my head like a storm I couldn’t stop. And then I looked down. My hands were shaking. And they were covered in blood. Her blood. It was smudged across my palms, under my nails, streaked down my wrist. For a second, I couldn’t move. Couldn’t breathe. The world tilted. Rage boiling in me.

Tiny spots of blood dotted my hands. I wiped them on my sleeve and took a shaky breath. “What the hell was that?” I whispered. No answer. Only silence.

She reached out to guide me to bed, but I couldn’t move. Because as I looked down at my hands, I saw faint red marks glowing on my skin — the same sigil that had been on the blood book. And this time, it wasn’t fading. It was spreading.

My body was hot, and the sweat on my sheen was irritating my skin. I tried to breathe through what I just saw. It was a nightmare. A very frightening one. Still, I had to make sure they were okay. I tried standing up, and that’s when I noticed it. Wet red liquid on my hands. The floral dress I had on was mixed with the color of blood. My heart seized. And I stared in horror at my hands. I caressed them against each other. It was blood. Sticky and wet. I couldn’t hold back the screams. I rubbed my hands hard on the bed duvet. But the more I rubbed the more the bed turned red. The smell was so strong.

Looking down I watch as the blood wells up from the open wound across my hand. “Place your hand over the bowl Avalon.” Mr Streeter encourages. I move my hand to the bowl and watch the blood fall into the now half full bowl of blood. I watch with interest as the red gushing from my hand swirls with flecks of gold. I stand transfixed. Its not the first time I have bled, not by any stretch. But its the first time I have noticed the strange gold that swims within my life force.

A sharp piece of the broken plate had cut through her hand, and she was bleeding. "Oh Jeez! Poor girl." Chloe muttered, shaking her head. Angel's eyes were glued to the blood that was dripping, unable to take her eyes off it as each drop of blood whispered, "Drink me." Her body burned and longed for the blood, as she hadn’t fed for a while. She waged an internal battle, trying to resist the overwhelming urge to rush towards the injured girl and sink her fangs into her flesh, draining her completely dry.

I know those eyes, where do I know them from? An ache wraps around my skull, and I watch them lift me up. My neck turns on its own, I gape, the panic I had tried to stop rushing back with fevor. The severed head of my elder sister, her shining blonde hair soaked in deep red with a pool of blood surrounding her. There are other limbs next to her, her eyes are wide and empty. Something pushes up against my mouth, and I tremble. A wave of dizziness hits me, I don’t stop staring at the horror show until my lashes flutter down and darkness swallows me.
