A tall figure stepped forward. “Hand over the loot.” Chaos erupted again. Steel rang. Bodies fell. Vanguard moved like a phantom, slitting throats, but only when Lucia was threatened. When the last body hit the floor, the room was soaked red.

I feel my wolf surge forward helping me to see vengeance. “Let’s do this,” I growl, as Gaia hauls Braden up and throws him onto the bed like the worthless carcass he is.
