Then Collin closed the distance and pulled her into a crushing hug, burying his face in her shoulder like the little brother he once was.
She wrapped her arms around him, fingers trembling as they clutched his back. “I’m here, little brother. I’m here now.”
The others remained still, respectful and quiet, watching history quietly stitch itself back together. And then, softly, Koa’s voice whispered into her mind:
“The last guardian has come home.”
Collin, still recovering from the emotional collision of seeing his sister again, turned slightly and extended a hand toward Tegan.
“This… is Tegan,” he said, a softness in his voice that only someone deeply in love could summon. “My true flame.”
