I move closer as I go to my knees in front of one. I reach out to touch it but draw my hand back. The petals are icy blue with white edging; the stem is white. The filaments are white grading up to blue and the anther is white. I close my eyes as I breathe in the fragrance. It’s harmless in this state. It smells like a crisp winter’s morning after the first snow.
