Marissa POV. Walking beside Kai as we reach the area where the Ice Lily grows, I’m in awe at the sight of the flowers in bloom. The scent is sweet with a bite of cold. My eyes widen at the sight. I move closer as I go to my knees in front of one. I reach out to touch it but draw my hand back. The petals are icy blue with white edging; the stem is white. The filaments are white grading up to blue and the anther is white. I close my eyes as I breathe in the fragrance. It’s harmless in this state. It smells like a crisp winter’s morning after the first snow.

The moment I turn my head to find the girl, which is on the left side of my view— she had her right hand raised to her shoulder height, and snapped her fingers with a cold, shuddering look. Not good…! On vague impulse, I took a giant leap backwards. The spears that were scattering around those five students— like seeds, where thorny ice vines sprouted from the spears and coiled them in an instant. Ice flowers then buds from the vines and blooms into roses afterwards, sealing any spaces that was left around them, as if they were trapped in a box. The small roses then fused together with each other and turns into a large ice rose. Along with the ice vines around it, it’s like a work of art.

As the ram reached me, the heat of his horns melting the eyelashes on my face, I swung. “Iced Earth!” I yelled. I didn’t aim for his head. I aimed for the ground beneath his hooves and his front legs. The moment my icy blade touched the ground, a flash of ice shards erupted and a strand of ice froze the ground towards Aries.
