Chapter Two: SIGHTING Later that night, Rojean dolled up to go to a place that was both a nightclub and a bar that everyone was talking about. She was old enough, for sure, especially if she was going to get married soon. But she was never the kind of person to go out on the weekends, to a club or even a bar and always preferred the comfort of their apartment which Lucas didn’t mind at all even when he wanted to go out. She was in a cream coloured off shoulder dress which stopped mid-thigh and hugged her curves beautifully.

Staying in hotels for so long had been rather inconvenient. Before long, Liam arrived at his destination, following the address on his navigation. Even though he knew that the house Gabriel could offer him would not be ordinary, he had not expected Hush Purple Gardens to be so upscale. The Hush Purple Gardens was a vast villa area. Unlike typical villa areas, it was situated right at the heart of the bustling South City. In that prime real estate, there was a secluded hill. The entire hill was the territory of Hush Purple Gardens.

Slidell walked with her on the edge of a cliff, where the blow of the wind blew in her hair with no end. There's a weird-looking huge three just before the end of the cliff, it leaves were colored purple when the sun strike on them and it looked like they're shining and they dance through the wind. Blanche closed her eyes and feel the wind brush through her cheeks. She inhaled the fresh air the place gives. It's far from the city and near the park just like what he said, you just needed to climb a hundred steps concrete stairs to be here.

I never had to deal with anything like this in California. As I turn to somehow get up the hill, a noise makes my heart jolt. I look back and try to assume that it's the rabbit, but the twisted branches and grey clouds are making it hard. The sound comes again, like snapping twigs and rustling bushes and howling winds all in one. I suck in a sharp breath as a dark thing lurks in the distance, only visible for a second. Spinning around, I claw my way up the hill and dash for the path. My shoes seem to cake on more and more mud the more steps I take. I try to kick it off, but it's like cement.

I would have never pictured myself friends with Bloom. Are we even friends? I think we are—or maybe she's just tolerating me because she has to tutor me. I don't know but I don't mind her—which is surprising because a lot of people annoy me. Bloom—she's just pure and wholesome and—I don't know. She just makes me want to keep her safe—or some ridiculous sappy shit like that. What does piss me off though—is that jackass Evan she's dating. How the hell does someone as kind and pure as Jasmine date a piece of shit like Evan.

“The closer we get, the stronger it will become.” They crested a small rise and came upon Hollow Hill—a place that should have felt like any other hill in the forest, but instead felt like an altar, an ancient gathering place for things long forgotten. The ground beneath their feet was uneven, disturbed by the weight of years and centuries of secrecy. Now she was excited to see this damned furnace. They made a beer run a while later and Ashleigh finally had a chance to see the beauty of Cobb Hill. She decided that it was not technically a mountain but it was steep and beautiful. Butch had come along to help load the liquor and it was he pointed out the blind bend in the road where Walt had met his death.
