Reed, please—" I burst into a clearing and found her on the ground, surrounded by flames. Her eyes were wide with terror and blood pooled beneath her body. "Ilaria!" I tried to reach her, but the fire rose higher, pushing me back. Through the flames, I watched her hand reach toward me, fingers trembling.
