When I look up again, I see my bookshelf. I stand up and walk over to it, glancing at the books I still need to read. I remember the nursery rhyme used as a way to choose something, so I do the same. “Ambarabà ciccì cocco, how much bad luck I have!” I begin, moving my finger between the books. Then I stop and reflect on the words I just said. “I’m pretty sure that’s not how the rhyme starts…” I mumble. I close my eyes and touch the books randomly until I stop my hand. It’s all hazy. My mind flashes again and we are outside in the yard. I still have that cold, but we are eating lunch while Mrs. Norm reads us a book. When the book is over, they both kiss the boys and leave the room.
