She closed the door with a soft, reverent click.
I looked at Dimitri. He was dressed casually today—black jeans and a white t-shirt that accentuated the lean, dangerous muscle of his arms.
"I hope you don't mind company," he said, pulling out a chair. "I hate eating alone."
"Where am I?" I asked, remaining standing.
"Sit, Caroline," he urged, ignoring the question. He lifted the silver domes on the trays.
The smell of bacon, eggs, and fresh coffee filled the sterile room. It was a feast. Scrambled eggs, sausages, fruit, pastries. Two tall glasses of orange juice sat sweating in the recycled air.
