I nodded, giving him a thumbs up.
Raising his arm, he silently asked if I wanted a hug. My eyes squinted with a smile, appreciating his thoughtfulness. I stepped closer and embraced him, a gesture he clearly wasn't accustomed to. The hug felt incredible until his arms wrapped around me.
Gone was the sweat, replaced by the scent of cologne, which struck me as odd. I was completely taken aback. It was an experience unlike anything I had felt before. It was a rarity for anyone to want to hug me-unless they were little kids who found amusement in poking my stomach and thighs.
