They only see them in aspects of media for entertainment. But to think, the real Azrael is before me in the flesh. However, his name in the bible describes a fallen angel, an archangel like Lucifer who rebelled against the heavens. I guess the history of angels and demons as mortal enemies is true. Azrael is titled the Angel of Death and Grim Reaper, an entity responsible for transporting souls to the afterlife with records of the deceased.

My eyelids try to close with all their might, but I resist and slowly manage to open them, although everything is blurry, I see that I am on the ground, lying. When I close and reopen them, Azael's face appears in front of me, watching me with a frown, with his piercings and his black shirt through which his tattoos peek out and spread across his neck. But when I blink again, there is no sign of him. As if it was part of my imagination.

Why is she looking after accounts?” Alpha Aiden asks instead of replying. Azriel lets out a derisive chuckle and shakes his head. “I am surprised by how much of a hero you act in front of others while they are being someone else’s responsibility.”

She clearly needed reassurance that things were going okay. “The demon here is called Azrael and he is contracted with Beckah Griffen” he said to her. “Why?” Clara said quietly. Caiden processed Azrael’s use of the word ‘fruitful’. It seemed like Azrael might have made a contract with Beckah that involved the souls of other people. Caiden could not call his contract with Clara fruitful because he would only be receiving her soul.

Charlotte was sitting quietly on her bed after the session with Matt. A troglodyte?” Azrael asked as he put out the cigarette in his mouth. “Then what do you do?” “Things that children shouldn’t know about.”
