he said, extending the book towards me. I took the book, my fingers brushing against the cover as I examined the title. "Little Women," I read aloud, a sense of familiarity washing over me. "Yes, it was Jacob's favorite book, and I think you will find it captivating too," he explained, his voice filled with warmth and nostalgia. "I'm sure I will," I replied, a soft smile playing on my lips, feeling a connection to Jacob through this shared love for literature. I ran my fingers along the cover, appreciating the weight of the book and the memories it held.

I have been watching them going out for lunch and giggling over silly videos, all while he kept bringing her coffee to her desk like a lovesick puppy just to have a chat. Next week I will have another scan to check the baby’s growth. I wished with all my heart that everything would be fine. After walking for a while, I had no idea why I ended up slowing down in front of a bookstore. My gaze lingered on the display window for a moment, stopping at one specific book. “Little Bear Loves His Mama the Most.” The title of the book, with its light blue hardcover and beautiful illustrations, made me stare at it for a long time.

The story had been a great distraction so far, and at that moment, I needed it more than ever. I loved what read about Letum, the book's male lead—about how dark and obsessive and utterly consuming his love was. How his devotion was terrifying yet breathtaking at the same time. He was the kind of love that swallowed you whole, leaving nothing behind but the person he wanted you to be. I wondered what that would feel like.
