Reading what humans think they know. What they’ve guessed at and what they’ve made up to explain what they can’t see.

Six wolves sit in elegant, high-backed chairs around a crescent-shaped table: three men, three women, all looking to be in their fifties at most. Each one is striking in their own way—sharp cheekbones, piercing eyes, the kind of ageless, dangerous beauty that defines the upper echelons of this race.

As far as I was concerned, he deserved what the wolf was dishing out. I sat in silent shock while I watched Snow hold tight to that ugly man’s thick, muscled throat until he took his last breath. What about Witches and Rogues could I find out? After giving my parents a kiss, I headed back to my room. I held the book against my chest while I opened the door and walked in, locking the door behind me.
