Gaia's speech was interrupted as she was confused to call the woman beside her mother. "Just call me Sister Dara, Gaia," Mona said to which the girl nodded in understanding. "Greetings, sister Dara. I'm Gaia, the first child of Mona's mother," said the girl, to which Dara nodded in return, the woman immediately wrote something on paper and gave it to Gaia. (You're really beautiful, just like her mother,) Gaia smiled as she read the letters, then she realized something. "Sorry, brother. Can't you talk?" Gaia asked looking at Dara who looked down and then looked up again and smiled a little, she immediately nodded in response.

Although, right now, I’m grateful for his expensive cologne, since it manages to refresh my nostrils after being assaulted by whatever that girl had on. “Who gave you permission to take my books?” he asks, his attention back on the board. “Siblings share stuff,” I say, air-quoting his infamous line from yesterday. Caden leans in my direction, narrowing his eyes and sporting a smirk. “How interesting. If that’s the case, I have plenty of ideas.” Knowing Caden, I’m sure he has wicked intentions in mind, so I quickly clarify what I mean. “I meant in terms of books, so stay away from my things and my bedroom altogether.” I emphasize my words.

YESTERDAY: I was steaming Thalia’s hair with a curling pot, when she asked. “What is so special about this book anyways? At home my brother wouldn't stop going on and on about this book. I was happy I finally escaped the torture of having to hear him say gibberish. Now it's you. You have barely said a word to me or had a full conversation with me ever since I got you the book earlier today.” She complained. “If only you were interested in history or folklore then trust me you would understand why I and your brother are so mad about this book.”

You will recall she was poisoned with wolfsbane, and they aren’t sure if she will get a wolf. That will be her story. And who knows, maybe all the pups will return in their own stories as they grow - Shelby did elude to the pups being special wolves.

Aria picked out a small picture book and held it open. “Once upon a time…” she began, her voice soft and steady. “There was a brave little princess who had the best big sister and big brother ever. She laughed and played every day, and everyone loved her very much.” Aiden clapped his hands. “Yay! That’s us! We’re the best big siblings!” May laughed quietly, tears glistening in her eyes. “She’s going to love this already. And so will you two — teaching her, reading to her, helping her learn about the world.”

And yet she couldn’t stop. The resemblance unsettled her more than she wanted to admit. His face, his hands, the way he stood, the ease of him. It made no sense, just like the way her body reacted every time he was near her. The quiet flutter low in her stomach.
