"Hey munchkin," I beamed as I ran over to him. Alpha Ryan was not only going to be my sister's mate, but he had also been my best friend for years.

I watched my step-siblings stumble through their mistakes and be met with patience, with forgiveness, with love that asked nothing in return. They were protected simply for existing. I was the Alpha’s daughter by blood alone — in every other way, an outsider standing just past the edge of belonging. If my own father could look past my suffering, why would anyone else bother to see it? So today was never going to be an ordinary birthday. After my mate Ethan's brother, the Alpha of Shadow Moon Pack, died in the territory war, my mate inherited everything from his brother, including his widowed sister-in-law Victoria. For the past six months, he has gone to Victoria's room every night, promising that once Victoria bears an heir, he would declare me as the pack's true Luna. At their mating ceremony, I dialed a number I hadn't called in five years: "Mother, I already have an heir now. I'm ready to come home and claim your Alpha position."

Before I could recover, the door flew open and rough hands dragged me out. “Let me go!” I shouted, kicking and fighting. “What do you want from me?” One of them smirked. “You really think you can date Byrain and not get hurt?” “What? I’m not dating Byrain!” I cried. “Please, just let me go!” The second guy’s voice was sharp and cruel. “We should make Byrain have no Luna for life by killing his mate, just like he killed Alpha’s sister.” My body froze. What did he just say? My mind spun. Killed… their Alpha’s sister? His mate..None of it made sense.

I say, looking at Leander. "She's an Alpha," he confirms, looking back at me. "I mean, I didn't ask to see her chest, of course, but I think so. Which means that she is Zeak's sister," I say. "Wait, why are you assuming, sister?" Liam asks, finally speaking.

I shall have to ensure it is delivered by our return from Tonnar. "I am Maeve. I am the Alpha's sister." I snort at her stupid introduction. I'd expected that she'd announce all the titles she bears. Instead, she has left her name bereft of all crowns. "What? Really?" Saskia's jaw drops, and I regard the snow-clad ground with a keen interest, to hold back from kissing that parted mouth shut. "Half-sister. We are half-siblings." I clarify, not wanting her to get the wrong idea about me and the unwanted guest. We are not chummy mates, and I have no ounce of respect for her like I owe Margaret.

“P-Please Alpha, d-don’t hurt Chantal.” In the middle of their flight, there’s this woman injured kneeling in front of the Alpha, crying and begging for her sister’s life. “Please leave Chantal alone, you can do anything to me, make me your slave…” “No.” Alpha Priam’s firm voice was in finality. “Can you bring back my father’s life?” The Alpha suddenly asked, and the woman look at him with her pitiful eyes. It was full of concern and fear, based on Alpha’s observation. The woman loves her sister even though the latter treated her badly.

Alex looked over to where Ash was looking and saw four people. One was a long, black-haired female with good style who looked older and clearly was an alpha. And an arm was wrapped around her by a man who is clearly his mate, and he is also Alpha. Next to them was a boy who was like a teenager's kid and was also an Alpha. He was holding hands with a pretty lady with brown, shaggy hair and glasses. She was a beta. He saw the four of them make their way towards a table. Alex looked over at Ash and grabbed his hand gently as he led them to the table his siblings were at with their drinks in their free hands.

I want him already. But he is my sister's Alpha.

I started, my voice loud enough for everyone pause and look at me confused. Before I could utter another word, Calanthe beat me to it. “My sister, Naidira and I would like to inform everyone of something important.” Alpha Orion looked confused. Just like everyone else. “What's going on?” I raised a brow, chest heaving silently. What did she want to say? Her fingers dropped to her stomach and her next words were soft. “I'm with child for the Alpha.” My blood ran dry as gasps and murmurs rippled through the crowd.
