Our Broken Howls

Our Broken Howls

They would expect bending. I would not bend. Not because I was unbreakable. But because something in Ravenwood had already begun to straighten. And once that happens, no amount of pressure can force it back into shape.

The Broken Candle

The Broken Candle

His mother's words were gospel to him, and the more he mulled over them, the more he was convinced he had to confront Rowena, even if it meant ending her life. As fate would have it, Rowena was being pushed out by the doctor, clamoring for me to take the baby. The others recoiled from the lifeless infant, desperate for it to be someone else's problem. Not me, though. I had faced that horror in a previous life; the shock of a stillborn had already scarred me once. 'But why should I?' I pondered. I confronted Rowena, "Why should I be the one to take your child?"

Contracted to the man who broke me

Contracted to the man who broke me

Focused back on the road stretched endlessly ahead of us. The air inside the car felt suffocating even with the window open. "I really hate you, boss, for the first time…" I exhaled sharply—the breath ragged at the edges. "For the first time I really feel like bashing at him. Calling him and cursing him out." A few seconds passed. Or minutes. I didn't know anymore. Time felt strange in moments like this. Broken. Just like him. "I don't want to go back to his home tonight...", His voice came out hoarse. Rough. Like it had been dragged over broken glass. Like even the act of forming those words had cost him something.

Sorry My Alpha Mom, I Was Born Broken

Sorry My Alpha Mom, I Was Born Broken

It pulsed, more violently now. "No... it must be broken..." my mother's voice trembled as she tried to reason. "I... I love my family! Everything I did was for the glory of our family!" The red light flared even brighter. It was mocking her every word. Then, I heard the familiar mechanical hiss. Hsssst— The silver injector activated. A scream ripped from my mother's throat. "AHHH—!" Her body convulsed violently, her hands clawing at her neck.

Broken Night

Broken Night

In his time as a True Crime writer, Byron had interviewed many people, many of them disturbed or troubled in some way. In these interviews, he would often run up against what he called The Breakdown, to the point where, due to the pressures of telling him their story a person would hit an unknown well of feelings and just… shut down, usually in a maelstrom of tears. They always recovered but it was at a point that Byron always hated, even dreaded.

Project Dakota: Rising of the dead

Project Dakota: Rising of the dead

“It’s how I’m still here.” And in that simple, stark admission, Ethel understood him completely. The foul mouth, the reckless behavior, the impulsive decisions—they weren’t just the traits of an angry teenager. They were the survival mechanisms of someone who had been alone in the grinding meat-grinder of this world for too long. The craziness wasn’t a bug; it was a feature. It was the cracked, fractured lens through which he viewed a universe that had done nothing but try to kill him since he lost his brother. His was a different kind of strength, ugly and unrefined, but it was strength nonetheless. It had kept him breathing.

The Alpha’s Rejected Human Luna

The Alpha’s Rejected Human Luna

And if I die in the process, they'll call it acceptable loss. My hands shake. The flower in my pocket feels impossibly heavy. But somewhere beneath the fear, something else rises. Steel. *You want to break me?* I think, fists clenching. *Try it.* *I won’t break again.*

To Rule the Tsar Alpha's Heart

To Rule the Tsar Alpha's Heart

I taste bile. The boy’s fingers press again harder this time. His voice is a ragged thing now, a human voice collapsing under too much animal. “Please…” He can’t finish. The chain rattles. Machines tally numbers that mean nothing and everything in the same sick beat. I can feel something rising in me, hot and sharp and terribly close to violence. I want to smash the cabinet of vials, pour acid down the machines, smash the monitors, take the baby and run wild with it through the tunnels of this house, shake the earth until every secret of Cross spills like entrails.

The Alpha's Mute Mate

The Alpha's Mute Mate

It felt as if the walls themselves would crumble under its weight. The ancient mortar cracked, splintering like dry ice beneath the intensity of my fury. The air around me vibrated, thick with the power of a nightmare given flesh and voice, and the echoes of that scream reverberated through every shadowed corridor and broken stone. This was not a cry born of pain—it was the roar of a force reborn, the anthem of a soul set free and hungry for justice. Somewhere deep within, a spark of something new ignited—pure, terrible, and absolute. And with that scream, I claimed my rebirth in full, no longer the broken girl trapped in silence, but the reckoning—the storm that had been waiting in the dark

The Alpha's Warrior

The Alpha's Warrior

Something snapped inside me. The grief, the panic, the unbearable sorrow—they twisted into something else. Something dark. Rage. Anger so deep, so pure, it flooded my entire being. Mac rose, his growl shaking the air around us. The pain of the bond breaking, of Ivy slipping away—it ignited a fire in my chest, a rage so powerful I could hardly contain it
