I was the "nerd" who spent too much time with my nose in books and my glasses sliding down my nose. But Harden was different. He was the future Alpha, strong, handsome, and brave. And he was mine. The door creaked open. My mother, Madame Helena, walked in. She didn't look happy. She looked like she was mourning a death rather than celebrating a wedding.

"And I allowed it." The confession shocked everyone. Including Alina. My jaw tightened. "That ends today." The air around me grew heavier. I bent my head. 'I, Bella Adams, accept your rejection," I whispered, then he turned away. Tears rolled down my cheek as he started back steps.

But this time, I didn't give in. I moved my face away, in a way of telling her that I wasn't interested in the act anymore, but she didn't get the hint and just continued to pepper open-mouth kisses on my face. "Gross," Jeremy commented and I almost laughed at that. Now he found her gross? "Ryder, I was thinking_" And there we go again. "Now that you became Alpha, what are your plans on getting a Luna?" She asked and I froze. I knew exactly where she was heading and I wasn't going to disappoint.

Leo said as he turn on the engine of his car and start to drive leaving the forest of Arizona. “I need to find my Luna.” Cole normally answered as Leo suddenly stepped the break to stop his car from moving, while shocked written on Leo’s face while turning his gaze to Cole. “What?! Your Luna? So you’re telling me that the alpha of the white wolves who’s not interested in a relationship or in commitment, came down in the forest to find his Luna?!” Leo exclaimed in disbelief while staring at Cole who lean his back in his seat and close his eyes. “Just drive Leo or I will kick you out in your own car.”

You are letting him make a mistake that will cost all thirty-two territories. A rogue cannot be your Luna. An abandoned woman, someone else's Luna, cannot rule over you. There is a contract." He pointed at me and his voice cracked with something that might have been desperation if I didn't know him better. "She signed a contract. She agreed to terms when she left Ironveil. She is mine by written agreement and she cannot form a new union until those terms are settled."

But it’s far more than I can handle. “Could I have the entry-level position instead?” I counter. I just need a job, not a ticket into political intrigue. It sounds like this pack leading business is a mess, and I don’t want any part of it. “It’s the Luna position or nothing, I’m afraid.” He reaches into his desk and pulls out a contract, “We don’t hire humans for entry-level positions. Too dangerous. They tend to get hurt. But if you sign this Luna Contract, you will have all the protection of the pack, and of me, as your Alpha. You will help me in a tricky time, and in turn, I can help you during yours. “
