I pushed open the bedroom door and found Xavier lying on the bed with Rosalina resting peacefully on his chest. "What’s going on? What’s wrong?" I gasped, breathless. "I missed you," he pouted, "and Rose kept punching my face." I growled, rolling my eyes. "You mean I sprinted across half the territory because you were being abused by a toddler?" "Yes," he said smugly. "You’re unbelievable." "Thanks." "That wasn’t a compliment." "Mmmmmm… AHHHHHHHHH!" Rosalina screamed happily. I flopped onto the bed beside them, causing her to bounce slightly. Xavier raked his fingers through her blonde hair, his expression soft and full of adoration.

Rosa said, trying not to match his tone, one of them had to be calm, and it looked like she had to be that person. “Look, I’m sorry I’m just… I’ve had a rough day.” He said this time meekly making Rosa smile in triumph. “It’s fine, I fully comprehend that. I’m Rosalina, Rosa for short.” She said, stretching her hands to him. “Hello, beautiful rose. I’m Damon.” He said, taking her hand in his, he brushed his lips against it. Rosa felt her insides melting at not just his voice, but the feel of his smooth, slightly calloused palm and the light tickle of his mustache against her skin.

He wraps her up in his arms and she sobs on to his chest. “Oh sweetie, we are all here for you. Welcome home, princess.” He says to her and I smile as I watch the two when I hear a loud growl and I look around for where the sound is coming from when Rosa is tackled and I hiss before I shriek and move to grab her when I hear her laughing as two wolves hug her in the dirt. “Hey shitheads.” I breathe a breath of relief as I realise they are Sassa and Skoll. “Ok, let her up you mutts and give her some damn space.” Calista comes out and drags Skoll off his sister as Gaia drags Sassa and Rosa laughs as I help her up.

We all held hands, a silent promise of support amidst the coming transformation. As the wind grew stronger, a collective gasp ripped through the group. Bones began to crackle, a sound both terrifying and strangely beautiful. The girl beside me let out a guttural roar, her body contorting as fur sprouted across her skin. In seconds, a magnificent silver wolf stood in her place, its eyes glowing a fierce amber.

"Put that down, Inés. You don’t know what you’re playing with." "Neither do you," she whispered, her voice trembling. "Alonso Delgado wouldn’t know about secret passages. Wouldn’t lie about who screamed. Wouldn’t come out of a wall with blood on his hands." He said nothing. She moved toward him, poker still raised. "Who are you?" Silence stretched between them. And then he smiled. But it wasn’t Alonso’s smile. It was colder. Crueler. More dangerous. "You’re clever, cara mia. I’ll give you that."

She couldn't reply to that. Rosalna flared her nose in the air as she spoke, she crossed her arms across her chest and smirked more "You think he loves you...... right?" She asked in a mocking tone and Sarah managed to raise her head slowly to look at her. Then Rosalina chuckled........a deep chuckle that somehow got under her skin. Sarah was stunned, Rosalina had suddenly changed in her character, she gets it's because of what happened but Rosalina seemed to be acting more cruel than she expected.

She kept crawling backwards but a gasp left her mouth as her back hit the bed. "What will you explain? I have already seen everything with my own eyes", Xavier snarled. She screamed in horror as Xavier grabbed her ankles and pulled her towards himself. He hovered above her and pinned her down on the bed. "You keep flirting with other guys while I just keep thinking about you", he gritted. Now that was it. As soon as Rosaline heard those words, she screamed loudly out of frustration. She pushed Xavier back and crawled backwards while shouting fiercely. "I WAS THIRSTY, OKAY?"

Before she could take a step away, however, he held onto her wrist, stopping her in her tracks. “Rose, was it?” He said, and she wondered why he sounded dubitative. “Yes,” she nodded at him, and his hold on her wrist tightened ever so slightly. “Rose as in short for Rosalina,” she felt the need to explain. “I see,” he released her wrist, and while she felt compelled to rub it a little, she kept herself in check, not wanting to upset the mafia boss further. “The next time you touch me so casually, we’ll have a problem.”
