Each one had notes beside it. Increased bond sensitivity. Emotional instability causes temporary resonance. Bracelets remain effective. Then I found another section. I stopped. “Tavish.” He looked at me. “What?” I handed him the page. “Read that.” His eyes moved across the paragraph. “Repeated emotional stress may accelerate Bloodlock deterioration.”

“Creep, wasn’t he?” He didn’t confirm. He just sighed and rubbed his face. “I wish he’s not the alpha,” he muttered. “Me, too,” I casually replied. “So, is there a way to block him? I don’t want him popping up in my head all the time.” “We can control it, of course,” Trevor nodded. “Mind link is like a telephone. If you don’t answer it, they won’t be able to talk to you. It’s a radical form of self-preservation. To avoid distressing memories, the mind simply… erases them. Or, more accurately, blocks access to them. It’s a way for the psyche to protect itself from overwhelming pain, from a reality it deems too unbearable to confront.”

I just need answers, that’s all. I walk over to the bed, sit down, and take a deep breath, trying to focus. I close my eyes and try to push into the mind-link. But nothing. It’s like I slam into an invisible wall. I frown, shift around on the bed to get more comfortable, and try again. Still nothing. The same frustrating block. What the hell is going on?

Doctor Fernandez said, thoughtfully. “What do you mean?” I asked. “Her mind could choose to block it all over again.” She explains. “We can only wait for her to wake up.” I sighed. “But as her doctor, I hope she remembers it this time.” Doctor Fernandez suddenly said, which made me look at her sharply. “It’s not healthy for her brain to keep blocking everything unwanted. Instead of facing it head on little by little, it will keep piling up and when it finally begins to resurface all at once, she may not be able to handle it.” She tells me.

“We’ve completed several tests, and you’re stable now. However, there’s something we need to address. The amnesia you’re experiencing is likely related to the emotional trauma from your recent incident.” I stare at him, confusion spreading across my face. “Emotional trauma?” Dr. Williams nods. “Yes. Sometimes, the brain blocks out memories or details as a way to protect you from emotional pain. It’s a coping mechanism. The memories might return gradually, but it could take time.”
