he breathed, “so damn much?” Cheryl shut her eyes. It was all she could do as his mouth moved on hers sweetly… possessively. Emotion poured through her. An unstoppable tide. There was a sound of a throat clearing and an embarrassed little cough. Guiltily, Cheryl pulled free of Nikolas. Two huge books were placed in front of her.

I grab her, block the view of the nurse and grab her face with both my hands. “Baby, I need you to breathe. Breathe, Tabatha!” She’s shaking now, her whole body trembling and I’m the sole reason she has not collapsed on the ground. “Baby, breathe for me please. In.. Out.. In..” I breathe with her, placing her hand over my heart, as I place mine over hers. Slowly I get her to breathe. ‘Why is Tabatha panicking? Talia can feel her feelings through their twinlink and she says she is in a full blown panic attack.’ Neptune’s voice rings in my head.

Today is a big day. A big day? How did my life become so out of control? In just a few hours, the world would see me as Alexander Presley’s fiancée. It wasn’t just the weight of the title—it was the lies, the pretense, the façade I had to wear like a second skin. Even though I knew it was quite impossible, I looked at my phone, hoping and wishing for a message from Marco. Of course it wasn't his fault he had vanished from my life.

I cry getting to my feet. I feel dizzy, I feel like I can’t breathe. I clutch my throat but there’s no air coming in. It feels like I’m suffocating. Like Silas’s hands are round my throat even now and he’s squeezing every last bit of air out of my lungs. “Breathe, Rosalie.” Layla says but I can’t. I can’t breathe. I’m falling. I’m blacking out. My fear is overwhelming me, and I see the carpet racing up to meet me as I pass out.

“I told you she would freak out.” My heart was pounding so loud I couldn’t hear anything else. I looked at Felix—he wouldn’t meet my eyes. Coward. “You’ll show up at the address we send you,” the man said, walking toward the door. “Two days from now. Wear something plain.” “What if I don't go?” I said, my voice shaking. He looked over his shoulder, eyes like ice. “Then your mother stops breathing.” And just like that, he was gone. The silence after he left felt louder than the threat.

My breath came shallow. I rose onto my toes, peering through the peephole. And there he was. My breath caught instantly, the air snagging in my throat. The phone trembled slightly in my hand as I held it. My chest felt like it forgot how to breathe, as if every inhale had to fight its way past the knot in my throat. “Damon?” The whisper escaped me, faint, barely even a sound. What is he doing here?

Nosh removed his belt which he used to assault her senselessly as she lay there trying to shield herself with her hands, but soon she couldn't hold on and let the belt rain on her. Blood oozed out of her mouth, her skin red with bruises but Nosh didn't seem satisfied. A phone call had interrupted him. He asked his men to continue while he spoke on the mobile. " Stop whatever you are doing and give it to me," a cold voice immediately sounded over the phone. " Who are you and what is it that you want?" " You shouldn't worry about who I truly am, but Camille, you should let go of her. Don't even think of killing her,"

At the crucial moment, they broke into the place where Bella was being held captive. The scene that unfolded was worthy of an action movie. Gunshots echoed through the room, and Bella's screams were drowned out by the chaos around her. But, in the midst of that storm of violence, her parents and Miguel arrived at her side. Together they faced the kidnappers, fighting for their freedom. With fierce determination, Bella showed her unwavering courage. With agile and precise movements, she freed herself from the bonds that kept her prisoner. The faces of her parents and Miguel were filled with relief and joy to see her free, unscathed.

I said the right things. I played the part. But beneath it all, I could feel something else. Tension. Like the air itself was waiting for something to happen. “Relax,” Ethan murmured quietly as another group walked away. “I am relaxed,” I whispered back. “You’re gripping my arm too tightly.” I immediately loosened my hold. “Sorry.” “Don’t apologize,” he said. “Adjust.” I took a slow breath, trying to steady myself. That’s when I felt it. A shift.

The instant she saw my corpse, her legs went weak, and she collapsed to the ground on her butt. There was a blank look in her gaze, and while she opened her lips, not a single sound left them. The coroner handed James a preliminary autopsy report. "Before her death, the victim suffered severe oxygen deprivation. Her cause of death was drowning, facilitated by an acute asthma attack. In layman's terms, after her oxygen was cut off underwater, she suffered an asthma attack which resulted in her respiratory system failing within a short amount of time. "Before she lost consciousness, she remained awake for roughly three to four minutes as she suffocated. During that period, she was completely a
