“I don’t interrupt. I just watch her, my sister, the queen of Matica, looking so lost in the same room where she has always seemed most certain. She moves toward one of the tall shelves, her fingers brushing lightly over the spines of old books. “Maybe there’s something I’m missing,” she murmurs absently. Her touch stirs a small cloud of dust, and then—suddenly—a heavy book slips free. It lands on the floor with a soft thud. Something smaller falls with it, a leather-bound journal, its spine cracked, its edges worn. Celeste bends down to pick it up, but I’m already moving closer. My heart stutters when I see the mark pressed into its cover.

“Really? That old thing? Do you expect me to believe it holds any real value? It looks like it’s been through a war.” I smirked at her response. Hearing her underestimation only fueled my confidence. “I’m giving this to you since I already have a copy. After reading it, you would know the answer to my question,” I answered her as I carefully handed her the book, afraid that the pages would crumble into little pieces. Giselle inspected the book in front of me with a mix of curiosity and doubt. “An Almega? An offspring of an Alpha and Omega?” Giselle questioned as she skimmed through the pages.

Calista POV. This is on us. What happened to Britany is on us. She has had to be kept sedated because Nicholas is fucking everything. If he carries on, it will kill Britany, and then there will be no stopping Gaia from tearing him apart. Xena has used her magic to lessen the effect of the mate bond to give Britany a chance to heal, but the damage has already been done. “Any news yet?” I ask Leo, who shakes his head when Gaia waddles into the room with more snacks. She has been stress eating, and it has been a week since her parents dropped that bomb on us.

Gabriel turned to me. “Selene… has the book reacted to you recently?”

I whisper out. I had fallen to sit on my knees looking down, tears falling from my eyes. I feel two soft hands on my shoulders and she pulls me up. “Dear child, you are not broken, scarred yes, but not broken. A broken person doesn’t care about anything, they dong feel love and they don’t fear losing it. You are not broken, not completely. Not more than u can be repaired. Question is, will you let your mate help you?” I look into the shining silver eyes belonging to the moon-goddess. I can see she mean every word she just spoke. As I stand there two wolf souls come over to the moon-goddess and me. I see the moon-goddess smile and scratch their ears.

But her efforts were of no use. Through all the distance, I didn't want to look back, nothing else mattered to me, I felt empty, broken and incomplete. All that went through my mind were memories, memories of our time together. Me with Jade and with him,(Roderigo). "Look where you're going you crazy lady!" A woman yelled peeping out from her class. I hit myself on few obstacles and cars, making some passengers and drivers to yell at me, but I didn't care. To me, it was as if the whole world was mute and went void.
