THREE Saturday “Here he comes,” Kevin Ellison muttered as we browsed over a table filled with used comic books at the Commons Trailer Park Yard Sale. I glanced up and, sure enough, there was Jake Burns peddling his clunky old bike down the fairway toward us. I snorted and returned my attention to an issue of Rom: Space Knight. “Peachy.” “Y’know, he really seems to dig you,” whispered Gary McNamara from the other side of the table, where he was perusing an issue of Thor. “I mean really. Like you’re best buds or something.”

Bucky lamented that he was not born with two extra legs so that he could run faster. Thankfully, he had managed to use Adrian as a shield. Otherwise, he would be dead by now. Touching the bruises on his neck, Bucky shivered in pain. When he tried to sneak into the yard, he ran into Adrian and quickly lowered his head. "Why are you only coming in now?” Adrian asked. Bucky replied, "I was chatting with Hendrick. He's a gossipy fellow and refused to let me go until he finished. Do you need me for something, sir?"

“You two look like you found something.” I glance at Nyx, and she nods, letting me take the lead. “We went to Rusty’s,” I say, keeping my voice low. “I talked to a beggar who’s always there. She didn’t know Snake’s face, but she saw a guy with the Shadow Riders tattoo on his wrist. Said he goes to a shop across the street, buys burner phones, in and out quick.” I reveal. Hera's face remains expressionless. She then narrows her eyes, her mind already working. “Burners,” she repeats, her voice hard.

I draped her pancakes with honey and dropped it on the table right in front of her, serving it with a glass of milk, after which I went back to the kitchen and had mine with a cup of hot chocolate. No one was at the hospital when I got there, and luckily for me, I brought a book along, so I sat right beside the bed and started reading the book. The book was “ My Father's Wish” by Bellaboy, a touching story of how a young man, Hunter, was set up by his late father's will to marry his middle school bully, Hazel, just so that he; Hunter, could claim his inheritance.

“Good morning Jonah.” My jaw drops, my eyes widening in disbelief. Doctor Jonah, the director of the entire hospital. I’ve never met him before—never even had the chance. But from everything Marcy told me, he’s an old man in his seventies, bald, with a crown of grey hair and a beard to match and he's referring to Alex as Sir Alex. “You disappoint me, Jonah. My nurse was threatened by her supervisor to quit this job. Is this how you run your hospital?” His voice is harsh, cutting through the silence.

The hospital room door opened. A woman walked in. She was wearing a nurses uniform. She was holding a clipboard and a familiar diamond pen. The nurse looked at Maya. Winked. "Time for your medicine Student Benson " the nurse said. "We have to get you ready for the book. The readers are already asking for a baby." Maya looked at Benson. He was nodding. His eyes were now a glowing silver. "A baby sounds like a plot twist does it not Maya?" Benson asked. His voice now sounded like people talking at once.

Buckins snapped, scowling at Rex’s accusation, “I am aware this place is a place of learning and enlightenment of the mind, whispering will distract the people who wish to fulfill their thirst for knowledge!” “Yeah ok, far out” Rex said throwing his hands up defensively. “Hearing things is still a sign of madness, even here young prince” Buckins said, squinting at Rex through his glasses, he looked as if he was about to say something, but instead, he bent down and picked up the dropped books, shrugged and started to walk off towards the tables. Following Buckins to the table, he asked, “These are the books I have to read?” “You can read, can you not?” Buckins asked, squinting at Rex once mor

Bucky frowned and walked into the office. The desk was still the same, just like before he left. He pulled out the half-read documents and continued reading. It was just that he had only read for nearly ten minutes, and hadn't even turned a single page. Bucky reached out to pull his shirt, and took out the 'brick' phone from his pocket. He also didn't understand why he was holding this discarded phone, a push-button phone from more than ten years ago, a phone that even Mr. Quitman didn't use.

Looking up at me from her upside-down position, Blanca's eyes met mine. I refrained from smiling amidst the pandemonium, but there was no denying that Blanca always managed to make life interesting. Out of all the Johnson kids, she and I had a special bond. On my twenty-fifth birthday, she had written an Avengers fanfiction where Bucky Barnes and Captain America were more than just friends. It had been entertaining as hell. "Blanca, are you ready to go?" I asked her, trying to maintain a composed demeanor in the midst of the chaos.
