Argun nodded. He lifted Ariel gently and portaled to the cave. Past the unused movie theater was a quiet, sealed room—perfect for nesting. He laid down bedding, food, and water.
“I’ll be back to check on you.”
Back at the house, Asbeel and Armaros crouched in the shadows.
“You dared to touch my mate,” Asbeel growled, low and guttural. “I marked her.”
“She was never yours,” Armaros snapped, eyes blazing.
