The light illuminated the dark forest, blinding the two attackers directly in front of her. "Get out of the way," Rhea snarled. The first attacker lunged, his poisoned blade aimed directly at her throat. Rhea didn't flinch. Her heightened reflexes, amplified by her awakened wolf, allowed her to see the strike in slow motion. She pivoted to the left, caught the man's wrist, and twisted until the bone cracked. He dropped the dagger with a howl of agony. Before his companion could strike her from behind, Rhea spun on her heel and delivered a powerful, silver-infused kick to his chest, sending him flying ten feet into the deep, freezing current of the river.
